Lena heynen

About Me

My name is Lena Heynen, and I am 22 years old. As a media design student, I spend much of my free time developing creative projects and illustrations. My greatest passion is creating illustrations for children and families, character design, and developing creative concepts. In addition, I am passionate about motorsport and poster design.

Motorsport-Projects

For this helmet, I created a custom sticker illustration of a bear holding a waffle. The goal was to create a playful and recognizable element for the Zandvoort Grand Prix that highlights the personality of Formula 1 driver Oliver Bearman and gives the helmet a unique character.

This illustration depicts the bulldog of Luxembourgish 'GetSpeed' driver Steve Jans. The sticker was designed as a personal element for his helmet and holds special significance, as his dog sadly passed away shortly afterwards. Today, the illustration remains both a tribute to his memory and a permanent part of his helmet design.

Many of these projects were created in my spare time and allow me to combine my two greatest passions – illustration and motorsport.

Character Illustrations

In these projects, I combine my passion for character design with playful and heartfelt illustrations.

Lumi-Mail Project

Lumi Mail is my own personal creative project. The concept consists of a letter that is delivered to people's homes every month. The little dragon Lumi travels through different worlds and shares his adventures along the way. Each delivery includes a postcard, stickers, and sometimes small surprises.

Poster Designs

Poster design is another way for me to express my creativity. I enjoy experimenting with typography, colours, and different styles to create designs that reflect my passions for music and motorsport.

Person Illustrations

In these projects, I transformed two personal photographs into two different painted styles.

Illustrated Stamps

These illustrated stamps showcase two different sides of my ideas: on the one hand, traditional Luxembourgish symbols such as the Red Lion and the Lamb Lämmy, and on the other, my favourite artistic style. With these concepts, I wanted to demonstrate how illustrations in small formats can tell stories and convey emotions.

This app mock-up was part of a university project. I developed a sample app for children that features a colouring book illustrated by me.
