Governor Visits Camp Grafton

The leaders were briefed about projects and future initiatives designed to enhance this premier N.D. National Guard training facility. Some of the completed and on-going projects include eight-room lodging facilities, a seven unit camper site, a fishing pier, and a boat ramp is expected to completed by next year. Following the brief the group toured the area. CGTC is located on the shores of Devils Lake and consists of 1,500 acres with numerous training opportunities for military units, law enforcement agencies, and UAS testing and research. The camp is also the home of the 164th Regiment Regional Training Institute of North Dakota.

Senior Leaders visit 164th Engineers

About 155 Soldiers with the 164th Engineer Battalion are conducting annual training from Aug. 6 to 20, 2021. Training includes crew-served weapons and rifle qualifications, hand grenade training, a FTX (field training exercise), CPX (command post exercise), and other battalion-level collective training events.

Army Guard recruiters host educators

These counselors from across North Dakota were attending the 2021 Career and Technical Education Professional Development Conference held in Bismarck, August 9 to 11, 2021. The National Guard orientation was one of the specialty options the attendees could choose during the conference.

The purpose of the orientation was to explain some of the career opportunities and benefits of membership in the N.D. Army National Guard. Activities included capabilities briefings by the civil support team, military police and air defense artillery; experiencing weapons simulators, Black Hawk orientation flights and familiarization with other equipment used by Soldiers.

Army Aviators Return from D.C. Mission

These Army aviators returned to airports in Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot and have provided aviation support to the National Capital Region (NCR) since November 2020. The remainder of the company will return within a few weeks via privately owned vehicles and in Black Hawk helicopters.
