Mrs. Bush's Barnard Broadcaster "Each person, each day, learning and caring in every way."

Dear Families,

Please take a look at the list of events coming up closely as we have many that you will not want to miss.

Conferences are next week, Wednesday October 25th (in person) and Thursday, October 26th (virtual), so if you haven't had a chance to sign up, please make sure you reach out to your teacher for information on their conference sign up. Conferences are an important opportunity to connect with your child's teacher to gain a deeper understanding of your child's academic progress and strengths as well as collaborate on strategies to support their social development. We thank you in advance for your partnership in ensuring a well-rounded and successful educational experience. During parent teacher conferences, we are also excited to share that we will have our Book Fair open at this time to purchase books for your child.

A friendly reminder to all families about our dismissal procedures. If you need to take your child out of school early, we ask that you do so prior to 3:45 p.m! Classrooms begin their end of day transitions at this time, along with safety and service squad jobs, which makes trying to dismiss kids at this time challenging. The parking lot also becomes very busy during this time creating extra challenges. We thank you for your help and partnership with us to keep our kids safe and dismissal time running smoothly.

Warmly,

Mrs. Bush

Guidelines for Halloween Costumes

As you guide your child in planning a costume, please keep in mind that we would appreciate your cooperation in planning something that is not scary, ghoulish, morbid, or in any way offensive to any culture or particular group of people. Costumes should not make fun of real people or real human traits. If your child is wearing a historical costume, make sure that it does not present misinformation or inaccuracies. We are asking all Halloween costumes to be of a non-violent nature. Also, no toy weapons, guns, knives, swords, light sabers, etc. will be permitted. We would hate to have a student have to remove their costume, so please make sure that it is appropriate and follows these guidelines. If you do not want your child to participate in these activities, please advise your child’s teacher.
