I never expected to receive this award, and I am very thankful that the PCL organization has provided students like me with ongoing financial support. This award meant more than financial support; the scholarship also helped boost my work ethic when it was hard to stay focused, primarily due to the online educational environment.

The scholarship has covered my entire final year of apprenticeship training for my second trade ticket. It is meaningful that big companies give out scholarships to apprentices making their way through schooling. It is also a good incentive to do better in school and lead by example. I am very thankful that I was chosen for the scholarship from PCL.

When I learned that I would receive the award from school, that made feel ecstatic, because I wasn’t expecting a blessing moment like this to happen to me. In a time of financially needs, that money helped me to pay my tuition which will greatly help me accomplish my apprenticeship.
While I’ve been hustling my way through education during hard times, awards like this greatly improved my morale and that support pushes me to keep going the extra mile.

Hearing I won an award was an amazing experience. It was a wonderful affirmation of the hard work I had just finished putting in for my schooling. Schooling does not come easily to me and having done my second and last years back-to-back, towards the end I was feeling quite overwhelmed. Receiving the scholarship gave a great boost of energy and excitement as I headed back to the work force. I am deeply grateful to PCL for having chosen me for their scholarship. I hope to return the favor in the future and offer my skills to their work force.

I was elated to receive the news that I had been chosen. This award has alleviated the financial stress that starts to build near the end of the semester and will allow me to focus more on the pressures of final exams and term projects.
I want to express my thanks to you and PCL. My passion for construction and sustainability continues to grow because of the Construction Engineering program at NAIT, and I hope to build a successful and impactful career post-graduation.
What do you like to do outside of school?
Backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, mountaineering, sewing, and mad scientist carpentry projects.

What did you want to be growing up?
A firefighter or policeman. Eventually I decided to become an engineer. I'm great at taking things apart. Though, I'm not as great putting those things back together yet.

I am incredibly honored and grateful to have received this scholarship.
From someone who had no construction background, I have been able to fill a site superintendent role with a residential home builder. This would not be possible without the skills gained from NAIT and the continuous pursuit to learn new things which the instructors highlighted throughout the course.
For PCL to be involved in the future of students and guide them into their new careers, I think it speaks volumes about the type of company they are and the culture they have developed. Your work and support does not go unnoticed and just know, that it’s something like this that can change a student’s perception.

First, I would like to thank you for your support of the trades, and those that are entering the various fields. I was very surprised and excited that I had received this award. After being off work to attend school, the money was a welcome bonus. It was able to help with some expenses that were incurred during that time, and I didn’t have to worry so much about them.

First of all , I would like to thank PCL and NAIT for this student award. I received this award when I really needed it. We just had second baby and I am the only bread earner in family. Receiving any financial aid is nothing but blessings. It clearly shows the AMAZING culture of PCL Construction.
Helping Canadian students during tough times clearly shows how committed they are. Again thank you so much for this award. I would love to work for PCL in future if I get an opportunity.

I was excited to learn that I was a recipient of the award and my hard work was paying off. It is amazing to have PCL care about the future generations. With the cost of everything going up and being a mature student with bills to pay, I was able to get some sleep at night knowing I had some help during the difficult times.
For myself, seeing an industry leader like PCL provide such an award gives me hope for future students who may struggle financially, like myself.
I want to thank PCL for this amazing, and very appreciated award. I will continue to put my best foot forward and look forward to completing my program. It is exciting to know that the construction community is well looked after by such leaders.

When I found out I was the recipient of an award I was surprised and excited to be recognized for my achievements. With the cost of tuition and sustaining a household while going to school full time it has presented some challenges. Having the financial support made the burden of cost less and allowed some relief to my family. Receiving an award for my academic achievements from an industry leader like PCL is an honor. The financial relief provided by the future of construction scholarship has allowed me to focus more on my studies and develop new skills. Coming from a full-time job and transitioning to school has been difficult financially, but PCL has made that transition smooth. This award gave me a great source of pride and motivation to be rewarded for my hard work.

Words cannot express how grateful I feel to have received the award you have funded. I have been married for 2 months now, to the love of my life, and we continue to save up for a down payment on a house. I work to the best of my ability in school, for the satisfaction of knowing I've tried my best, and in the hopes getting my name in the ring for a scholarship like this one. What do you like to do outside of school?
I am a video game enthusiast, as well as an avid volleyball player, I recently took up golf, and became pretty addicted to that, and hanging out and spending time laughing with my wife and friends.
