Cru is a caring community passionate about connecting people to Jesus Christ. Our purpose is helping to fulfill the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit by winning people to faith in Jesus Christ, building them in their faith and sending them to win and build others.
Today's generation of college students are longing for community more than ever. Students are experiencing higher percentages of loneliness more than any other generation. They are searching for purpose and to be apart of something bigger than themselves.
On average, only about 3% of all college students decide to pursue a Christian ministry at their college campuses to grow in their faith. By the time students reach their junior year, maybe 25% of all students attend church. Fewer students are growing in their faith and attending church constantly in and out of college.
But God is doing something amazing in this generation. At UW-Whitewater, we have witnessed an abundant growth in our ministry. Our weekly large group meetings on Tuesday nights have grown from 80 students to over 150 students this past year.
Along with our weekly meetings, students have been stepping out in faith on campus. Over this past year, we had over FORTY students start a personal relationship with Jesus for the first time, mutiple water baptisms and students sent on summer mission opportunities.
I found to Cru my sophomore year of college though a spring break missions trip. Through Cru, I truly found what it was like to live in a healthy community of believers and grow in my faith. The staff and women that I met helped me grow my relationship with God.
Now, I have the opportunity to help disciple students though their walks with Jesus in college and equip them to share their faith with others.
I would love to talk with you more about what God is doing in the lives of these amazing Gospel-minded students and how I have seen God move in my life. I also want to invite you personally the opportunity to join my team!
