FIFA Women's World Cup
How amazing has the FIFA Women's World Cup been?! Whether you managed to get tickets to a game, watched it on TV or came together at the Tanunda Clubhouse, so many memorable moments have been created across the last month. The Matildas and all of their players are now household names for all the right reasons. They are inspirational ambassadors for our sport and as women. We dearly hope the legacy of this tournament will be greater investment in football - especially women's football - around the world, in Australia, and in the Barossa.
Barossa United FC is looking to finalise our 2024 sponsors soon; if you or a business you know are looking to invest in the hottest sporting club in the Barossa, please contact Luke Edwards on 0428 442181.
'TIL IT'S DONE! ⚽️💚💛
Quiz Night SUmmary
On top of being a super fun evening filled with lots of action, laughs and extremely good wine, this years Quiz Night has raised a record profit of $11,080! We raised $5,238 from the silent auction alone! This is an incredible club-wide effort and a testament to the generosity of our community. We deeply appreciate the support of those who donated goods and especially those who donated their time.
Huge thanks to: Apelle, Aesthetic Bliss (Gawler), Studio Pilates (Gawler), Pink Skip Bins, Endota Spa, Novotel Barossa Valley Resort, Barossa Valley Fun Factory, Aroma Pot Candles, Casa Carboni, Barossa Bowen, Vintage Chef Co, Rojomoma, Steinborner, The Farm Barn (Nuriootpa), Cooper Burns, Arila Gardens, Toomfoolery Wines, Grant Burge, Sons of Eden, Elderton, Stefan Borak, Peter Lehmann Wines, The Edwards Family and The Herrmann Family.
BUFC App
If you haven't already downloaded the new custom-made BUFC app, get onto it! Check your inbox for all the info about what it's for, how to download it, how to sign in, and what you can access with your BUFC membership (including free 2-year membership at the Tanunda Clubhouse!).
The Barossa United FC App can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store now!
We have also just launched the BUFC Buzz which is a site that has been put together to hold all of the match reports for our games across the club. There will be a greater push for teams to submit match reports for all of their games and you can read them all through The BUFC Buzz site. You will be able to create an account, and in the near future, you will be able to submit your own match reports to The BUFC Buzz for games.
The BUFC committee is aiming to provide as many ways as possible for members to stay connected, invested and knowledgable about what is happening in and around the club.
We hope that everyone will love the new app and website and if you have any ideas about what should be added or if you spot any issues please let us know at barossaunited@gmail.com
Help Needed
There is an amazing bunch of dedicated, generous and talented volunteers literally keeping BUFC rolling. We are ALL 100% unpaid. We are all juggling full-time jobs and our family commitments. Although we love what we do and find it incredibly rewarding, even the most committed volunteer can become burnt-out when the load falls on a small number of shoulders. We are a big club now, with over 300 members so we need our team of helpers to grow as well. If you can help with any of the following roles please contact admin@barossaunited.com.au.
Events Committee
Do you love throwing a party? We are in need of a small team of people to pull together this year's events, including the Senior Presentation Night, Junior Presentation Day and the Official Clubroom Opening (🤞🏼). A couple of representatives from each of the senior teams would be great to ensure the Presentation Night is a complete success.
If you are not able to volunteer, please be understanding and supportive of those who do.
Bottle Sorting
We are now in recycling!
Barossa United has been provided the opportunity to sort and deposit all the Nuriootpa Caravan Park's bottles and cans - this is a huge opportunity to make some fairly easy money for the club. All teams will be rostered to assist with this task at some point. It will involve sorting out cans and bottles into various containers inside the shed next to our clubrooms, and then transporting them to the recycling depot.
