A MESSAGE FROM MRS. BERLET
Dear Parents & Guardians,
The end of the first marking period was Wednesday, October 29th, and report cards will be posted Friday, November 7th. The children have been very busy and making great strides.
We enjoyed both our Fire Safety Day and Safety Day in October as well our Fall Festival, Sliming of Mrs. Berlet and Airplane Shuttle! Thank you to all the staff and volunteers that it takes to pull off such meaningful and educational events for our students. We are looking forward to our Veterans Day Celebration which is sure to be both educational and meaningful to our students and teachers.
As part of our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework in which all students succeed, we have an awards assembly each marking period. Our first marking period awards assembly is on Wednesday, November 19th. Parents that receive a letter of invitation from the teacher and/or specialist are invited to come. If your child didn’t bring home a letter this time, there will be another time during the school year. Every child will get an award at some time in the school year.
November brings Parent/Teacher Conferences which are a great way to give and receive feedback on your child’s strengths and progress at school. Our teachers are looking forward to sharing information about your child’s progress and learning more about your child through your input at conference time. Please be sure to sign up for your conference with the information your child’s teacher has sent to you. If you did not receive it, please contact your child’s teacher.
As a reminder, we will have early dismissals at 12:10 PM on November 21st, 24th, 25th and 26th. If your child(ren) will have a different transportation need on the early dismissal days, please send a note to your child’s teacher and/or an email to weisoffice@nwlehighsd.org as soon as possible.
PSSA testing schedules are out. Please plan on Grades 3, 4, and 5 testing during the weeks of April 20- April 24 and April 27-May 1. We ask that you not make appointments or Educational Trips or vacations during those days.
Thank you again for your participation in BoosterThon. Through your generosity, our school will have assemblies, field trips and so much more.
I would like to wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving!

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VETERANS!
On Friday, November 7, 2025, Weisenberg students and staff will be holding a “Parade of Heroes” to honor family and friends who are veterans, and those men and women who are currently serving our country. All students should wear red, white and blue. Students who participate in Scouts may wear their uniform to school that day.
We cordially invited our community Veterans and those who are currently serving to participate in our “Parade of Heroes” starting at 9:40 am. Following the parade, Veterans will join our school community in the gymnasium for an Honorary Assembly. In addition to the assembly we will be hosting a luncheon for the Veterans from 11:00-1:00. (Pre-registration was required.)
Parade Route: Veterans/Service Members will enter the parking lot at the Bleiler Hill entrance. We will have staff members outside assisting with the flow of traffic. After entering the parking lot please follow the parade route through the main parking lot towards the drop off/pick up loop near the gymnasium. The parade caravan will travel around the loop and make a right down the bus lane. Cars will also exit on Bleiler Hill Road at this time if the veteran is not staying for the assembly and luncheon. If the veteran is staying for the assembly and luncheon, proceed on the parade route above but park in the South Parking lot instead of going down the bus lane again. Guests will enter through the gym doors in the South Parking Lot.
We encourage those Veterans and families that are participating to decorate their vehicle!

Maintaining a Healthy School Environment
1. Please monitor your child for signs of illness, such as fever, cough, and stomachache. Please do not send students to school if they are exhibiting signs of illness.
2. Encourage healthy hygiene habits at home to reinforce school expectations. Frequent hand washing, covering of coughs and sneezes, and social distancing are all important in stopping the spread of illness.
3. Hydration supports the body’s ability to fight off infection. Dehydration can be caused by fevers, salty diets, and caffeine. Please have a water bottle for your student to sip throughout the day.
4. The weather is changing! Students go outside for recess every day unless it is raining. At this time of year, there are also extra recesses. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Layering clothing is a good option when the mornings are cool but the afternoons are warm.
5. Students may bring in their own cough drops with a parent note. Cough drops will be kept in the school nurse’s office and students may come for their cough drops as needed throughout the day.
6. Any medication sent to school, prescription or over-the-counter, must be registered in the Nurses’ Office and must be accompanied by a medication authorization form and signed by a physician. To request a form, contact the nurses or download it from the website. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to keep all our students safe and healthy!
**PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND A COAT TO SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD**
