Eckerd Drops Doubleheader at USC Beaufort
HARDEEVILLE, SC - The Eckerd softball team hit the road for the first time this season, falling 3-2 and 8-1 in a doubleheader at USC Beaufort on Saturday afternoon.
The Sandsharks struck first in the opener with two runs in the third on a two-run double. Eckerd rallied to even the score in the fourth on a solo homerun from Hannah Taylor and an RBI groundout by Abby Lucas.
The Tritons had a chance to go ahead in the seventh with two runners in scoring position and one out. However, they were unable to convert. USCB walked it off in the seventh with an RBI double.
USCB took the lead early in the second game with a pair of runs in the opening frame. They added three runs in the fifth before Taylor got Eckerd on the board in the sixth with a sacrifice fly. The Sandsharks made it an 8-1 game with three more runs in the sixth.

Last season, Reymer pitched in 19 games with 10 starts in the circle. She held a 3.54 ERA, plating 40 strikeouts on the season, earning one win and one save. Reymer pitched three complete games and recorded two hits through nine at bats. In the 2024 season, Reymer received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
