COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

Community Development 2024 Annual Report

The Community Development Department has released its 2024 Annual Report. The year saw significant growth in building permit valuation—driven by a few larger developments and strong Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) production. Permit volume reached a decade high, indicating strong construction activity, though most projects focused on remodels, additions, and ADUs rather than new housing units. While planning activity slowed, with fewer applications and public hearings, several notable residential projects made progress. The department also continued to work on important advanced planning initiatives, including updates to ADU and subdivision code, and collaborated regionally on the implementing the Crossroads Specific Plan. Public Works resurfaced nearly 10 miles of streets—the most since 2016—and completed a record number of work orders. Meanwhile, Community Preservation maintained strong case volume and high voluntary compliance, reinforcing neighborhood standards through proactive outreach.

Vintage City Street Signs For Sale

Stop by City Hall during regular business hours to browse and purchase a sign. Available signs include Las Tunas Dr, Kauffman Ave, Alessandro Ave, Oak Ave, and others. Supplies are limited, and signs will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
