What is Story Collider?
Most widely known for their weekly podcast, The Story Collider helps scientists, stand-up comedians, and everyone in between tell true, personal stories about the ways that science has impacted their lives. Now, they're coming to UHD.
Join some of their award-winning producers for an all-day retreat on August 12th to learn how to tell your own science story and apply those skills to help you become a better writer, speaker, listener, and future scientist.
How do you identify a story to tell out of all of your life experiences? What features do all effective stories share in common and how can you personalize those features to build your own story from the ground up? How can you talk about science in a conversational manner without doing a disservice to the science itself? For the answers to these questions and more, join us on August 12th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Register to the Workshop
This is an interactive workshop, but no previous storytelling or performance experience is necessary. Story Collider producers will guide you through a series of guided exercises and activities, you'll have plenty of quiet brainstorming time, and you never have to share anything you don't want to. Everyone can be a science storyteller in their own way and we hope to see you there
