Welcome to another busy newsletter this week. I am avoiding mentioning the weather for fear of cursing it, although of course I hope that you are enjoying the warmer temperatures.
I would like to welcome Mrs. Davis into our ‘Family Team.’ Lots of you will have the chance to work with her and the experience that she provides Birkwood will be of terrific assistance to all of us, I am sure.
Happy Red Nose Day! Many thanks to the school council led by Mr Davis for selling the red noses on the playground this morning. I was asked about this by some families, and even though it hasn't appeared on our calendar, I felt that doing something was the right call. I hope that you understand that backing this magnificent charity was certainly optional. It is always difficult in terms of asking for money from families. Giving to charity is a valuable lesson for our children, although we do try to be realistic and thoughtful. Thank you to everybody who was able to support this. As a school and community, we have done some terrific work for lots of amazing causes.
Yesterday, Year 4 enjoyed a careers visit to Magna around STEM. I know that they had a fantastic time and hopefully it will have fired up the budding scientists and engineers amongst us
I hope that you have managed to see our after-school provider ‘Groots’ and their plans for an exciting Easter Camp at Birkwood. Have a look - it would be great if you wish to sign up your children for this exciting opportunity.
Next term’s After School Clubs shall hit ParentPay this evening. Don’t miss out!
Easter Egg Raffle tickets are on sale. Thanks to Miss Taylor & Mrs. Whitfield for organising this annual treat! Thank you to our staff too for the donation of the prizes! Tickets are 20p each.
Disco time is again upon us – next Thursday! Again, please attempt to buy tickets in advance to enable our team to ensure that we have catered for everybody. Tickets are available until 3.15pm Tuesday 25th March. As usual please place the money in a sealed envelope, with your child's name on the front, and hand to their class teacher.
BMBC have asked to share this flyer. Should you be interested in working with children please have a look.!
