Hello, we’re the main charity making a difference to patients, staff and research at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).

We provide funding for projects above and beyond what the NHS can realistically provide.

This can be anything from funding projects to make a hospital visit that bit better, to enhancing hospital spaces and facilities, to supporting UCLH’s staff, and funding pioneering research. With the help of our fantastic community of fundraisers and donors, we support UCLH to provide world class care to over a million patients each year. Take on a challenge

Lynsey and her nephew Jack (pictured below) have run two half marathons to say thank you for the care of their late dad/grandad who was treated at UCLH.

Faroukh celebrated his retirement...by doing a 247 feet abseil! Faroukh (pictured) was cheered on by friends, family and colleagues as he scaled down the White Collar Factory building in the centre of London.

Get baking

Everyone loves a bake sale! If you’re a whizz in the kitchen, why not plan a bake sale with your friends and family, a truly delicious way to raise funds.

Teamwork makes the dreamwork

Better together! Get your friends or colleagues together to take on a challenge as a team! The women’s health team at UCLH got together to do the Snowdon Trek at night, raising over £5,000 to support women and babies at UCLH.

Get arty

Charge nurse Alec is a senior nurse at UCLH in the endoscopy unit – as well as being a super talented artist. His drawings featured in an exhibition, after which he kindly donated a percentage from each piece of artwork sold, raising over £500.

Top fundraising tips

Here are top tips for successful fundraising:

Make it easy for others. The easiest way to raise sponsorship is through an online platform, like JustGiving. You can personalise your page with your story and photos, and email the link to family, friends and colleagues and share on your social media accounts. Our JustGiving page is www.justgiving.com/uclhcharity - visit the link and follow the online instructions. Gather your tribe. Your family and friends might be able to help out at your event or local businesses might be able to support you. If you work for a company, they may be able to support your fundraising activity. They may even go on to select us as a nominated charity or support with a match giving scheme to help you hit your target. Spread the word. Promote your event through your social media channels. The more people that know about your event or challenge, the more potential attendees or donors. Your story might resonate with the local community, so you can contact your local paper or radio station, local social media pages, community groups, forums and websites, to tell them about your fundraising. Don’t forget to let us know how your event goes! Gift aid your donations... at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid is a simple and easy way for you to add ‘free’ money to the sum you raise. We reclaim the tax on every donation through Gift Aid at no extra cost to the donor. Currently we can claim 25p in every £1. To be qualified to claim Gift Aid the donor must be a UK tax payer and must give us your consent, home address and postcode. We do the rest! Legacy. Remembering us in your will is a simple way to leave a lasting legacy.
