On October 15, 2024, the Feinberg Academy of Medical Educators (FAME) in collaboration with the Department of Medical Education, hosted their 14th annual Medical Education Day. This full-day event focused on exploring and enhancing the future of medical education while honoring exceptional teaching and scholarship.
Jean Twenge, PhD, a leading expert on generational differences and a professor of psychology at San Diego State University was the 14th Annual Medical Education Day keynote speaker. Her lecture, Understanding Generational Differences: Improving Teaching and Training in Academic Health Professions provided expert insights to help teach, train, and engage across the generations in the workplace.
Medical Education Day features a variety of workshops, engaging lectures, and insightful discussions.
During Medical Education Day, attendees enjoyed Table Talks—a unique opportunity to connect with fellow health professions educators over lunch in small, engaging groups. Each table was led by a FAME member expert, guiding rich discussions on essential topics like Assessment, Bedside Teaching, Course Development, Coaching, Education Scholarship, and Education Theory.
FAME membership applications are accepted annually each summer for review by the Feinberg Academy of Medical Educators (FAME) Membership Committee. Visit our website for more information.
Feinberg faculty, students, residents and fellows presented their research at a poster presentation session for this year’s Medical Education. Congratulations to poster winners: Justin Drogos, PT, DPT, Matthew Rudolph, MD, Joseph R. Fuchs, and Maya Navarro, BS.
