TRIVIA NIGHT I’m sure I am speaking on behalf of all who were in attendance to say what a great night of fun, entertainment and socialising we had last Friday night for the annual (?) Viewbank Primary School Trivia Night. The evening was beautifully crafted and prepared for by the Parents and Friends Group, and the MC and quiz master John Stewart was surely auditioning for a gig at a higher level (Logies? Sam Pang take care!). Whilst there was a winning team and a swag of rich prizes, the evening managed to raise a significant amount of money for the school and truly was a fun night. Thanks again to all for their involvement in making the night a success and especially to Mr Viewbank, John Stewart, for his time, effort and expertise in captaining the event.

REPORTS The process of writing, proofreading, and editing of school reports is just about complete with these going live via Compass on Wednesday, July 2nd at 4.00pm. These take a significant period of time to write, with the collation and comparison of data and the establishment of progression points all taking place behind the scenes. Please take the time to read and discuss the reports with your children when the reports become available to facilitate more meaningful conversations on the three-way conference day.

ENROLMENTS If you haven’t already done so we strongly encourage you to submit enrolments for 2026 now if you have a younger sibling eligible to commence school in 2026. Enrolment applications are due by July 25 and between July 28 and August 8 primary schools notify parents and carers in writing of Foundation (Prep) enrolment outcomes, as per the department’s Placement Policy. Forms are available from the general office, via an email request or you can download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from https://www.viewbankps.vic.edu.au/how-to-enrol

STAFFING CHANGES As mentioned in previous newsletters, Bonnie Boness will be leaving us at the end of term to prepare for the birth of her first child. I am happy to report that Katherine Sellenger will be replacing Bonnie from Term 3 onwards, and we wish her a long and successful career with us. To enable a strong transition, Katherine will be working with Bonnie in the 6B classroom for all of next week so that the swap over will be as seamless and smooth as possible. Three-way conferences for 6B, 6F and 5T will all be taking place on Thursday, July 3 due to Bonnie’s departure and to accommodate the leave requests of Sandy Farley (6F) and Narelle Taylor (5T) for the first few weeks of Term 3. Alyce Elmore who has been working in a literacy support role in Foundation to Grade 2 during the first half of 2025 will be absent in Term 3 and her role will be filled by Emma Sargeant and Meredith Kearney, who will be returning for one day per week after the birth of her second son.

END OF TERM Can you believe the end of term is approaching? School concludes for Term 2 with a final assembly in the gymnasium commencing at 2.05pm on Friday, July 4 with dismissal time around 2.30pm. A further reminder that the first day of Term 3, July 21, is a pupil free day to enable the conduct of three-way conferences which we hope you have already signed up for.

Kind regards,

Bill Kersing
