FROM THE Principal’s Desk
Dear Bluejay Family,
You never cease to amaze me! Just when I thought we couldn’t top Color Run, Pageant, and Broussard Community Fair, you all showed up again for iGive Catholic! The numbers aren’t final, but we did so well that we are in the running for some final prizes. Check out the Advancement section of the bulletin for details and help spread the word before Tuesday!
I write this week’s message after returning from riding in the Broussard Christmas Parade. It was a truly fun experience, but I beg your forgiveness for any time when my throwing arm was absolutely terrrible. In the aftermath, two words immediately come to mind: glitter and joy. GLITTER, because it is everywhere (seriously, it is worse than confetti eggs); JOY, not just because of the parade, but also because Advent is beginning.
Glitter seems to find its way into every nook and cranny, reflecting and shimmering in unexpected places long after its initial contact. In much the same way, the joy inspired by the impending arrival of Christ illuminates our hearts and souls. Advent is a time to embrace the transformative power of hope and faith, allowing the light of Christ to reach unexpected places and brighten the ordinary. May the radiant joy of Jesus, much like shimmering glitter, fill our hearts and homes not just during Advent but also for a long time to come.
Grace and Peace,
Erin B. Henry
Principal

ANNOUNCEMENTS
It is with great joy and sadness that we announce Father Casey Dugas' new appointment beginning January 1st. While we are so happy for him to move into his new role as Pastor of Saint Peter Church in Pine Prairie, we will miss him as a constant figure on our campus. His jovial personality and love of Christ blessed our days in the chapel, hallways, and sporting events. God Bless you Father, best wishes, and congratulations. We will miss you.

This is a holy day of obligation. We will celebrate the Immaculate Conception of our Blessed Mother Mary. We believe that Mary was pure and free from sin from the very moment of her conception. What a beautiful celebration as we prepare our hearts for Jesus’ birth!

ADVANCEMENT
I hope you have heard of the exciting growth happening at St. Cecilia. While we strive to maintain the atmosphere that makes St. Cecilia special, we also know that it's time to expand some of our facilities. Our next phase of growth comes in the expansion of our cafeteria. If you've walked on our campus in the last 30+ years, you've seen the cafeteria as it stands today.
All funds raised in this year's iGiveCatholic campaign are going towards this expansion. We know this campaign's goal won't get the cafeteria all the way built, but we are looking forward to exceeding our iGiveCatholic goal and applying all funds to the project.
As an added incentive, iGiveCatholic campaign has some additional cash awards for the top fundraisers. We are in the running for some of those, but need your help staying there. The campaign closes on December 5. Some of the prizes are based on the number of donors, so just know that no donation is too large or too small. As always, every dollar counts!
Thank you for your continued support of St. Cecilia School. We look forward to feeding all those Bluejays for years to come.
God Bless!
Fun Dress Week
Fun Dress Week will be January 8th-12th and $20 to participate. The link along with more information will be sent home this week.

We will be hosting a career day for our junior high students on January 12th. If you or someone you know is a St. Cecilia alum and would like to present to our students about your occupation, please contact Sheree Prince at sprince@scsbluejays.org. We are looking for 15 unique occupational presentations that morning.
SCS PAGEANT
Dear Bluejay Family,
Our winter sports season kicked off this week. Our soccer and basketball teams were in action. It was good to be back in the gym this week. Mother Nature intervened to end the week and decided to rain on the Saturday set of soccer games. All of our teams were competitive and even in defeat had a good time. On Monday, the 7th and 8th grade boys looked really strong in wins against Sts. Leo Seton. We look forward to sending our basketball teams on the road this week to represent us, while we host our 8th grade religion fundraiser on Wednesday.
