Relieving Principal's Message
The first 5 weeks of school have absolutely flown by in a flurry of excitement! Firstly, I would like to thank all our families who joined us on Wednesday afternoon for Parent Teacher Meet and Greets. It was lovely to sit and have a chat while we got to know each other and learn more about your children. We hope that you enjoyed the evening and had a sausage on us!
I would also like to congratulate all our swimmers who participated in our combined school swimming carnival with Southern Cross Public School. Our students represented our school with pride and put their best efforts forward. We had 14 students move on to represent the school at the District Carnival.
Next week we have the free dental program running for students who need a dental check up and we start our Intensive Swimming Program. Living so close to the beautiful beaches and rivers that make Ballina special, it is very important our students have the basic skills to keep themselves safe. We are very proud to offer this at no cost to our families.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome several new families to our Ballina Public School Community. We hope you are all settling in and feeling like part of our team.
A reminder to all our families if you haven't yet downloaded and accessed our Parent Portal School Bytes App please do so to ensure your child/ren doesn't miss out of any of our events. We no longer send home permission notes, everything is electronic via this app.

K-6 students were exposed to the NRL's school blitz program on Monday 17th February as part of the game's commitment to sending positive messages about living a healthy lifestyle. The community program has been implemented and tailored for more than a decade and also cater to children who aren't necessarily interested in playing the game.
"We're working hard to give everyone an experience on and off the field with a junior participation program that is non-contact and delivered nationally in a safe environment with fundamentals like catch, pass and movements for all levels."
"We do understand people may not want to be a player but we're hopeful that through programs we're able to get them involved in the game down the track, whether it be an administrator or volunteer."
