Week 1

Maths - This week in maths, we finished learning about addition and subtraction with exchanging. We practiced our skills by solving different problems and then challenged ourselves even further with word problems. These problems made us think carefully about what the question was really asking before we started calculating, helping us become more confident and thoughtful mathematicians.

English - This week in English, we focused on improving our grammar. We started by looking at a busy picture and, as a class, came up with a sentence. Then, we worked in partners to create another sentence using and, but, or, or because. Finally, we worked independently to write our own sentences. This activity also helped us practice using full stops, capital letters, and our magic link handwriting.

P.E - In P.E. this week, we started learning how to play football. We practised different skills and had to listen carefully for the whistle — when it blew, we quickly changed to a new skill! We also learned how important teamwork is in football, as we needed to communicate, support each other, and work together to succeed.

Music - In music this week, we learned how to use dot notation to show pitch. Mrs Butler played us three notes, and we had to listen carefully and guess which notes she had played. Afterwards, we used our iPads to create our own dot notation, showing what we had learned about pitch and sound.
