The Energy Consultants Association (ECA) is an independent, not for profit, self regulated trade body that represents and protects the best interests of energy consultants, intermediaries and their customers. The ECA supports all non domestic activity.
Active member of the new OFGEM TPI (Third Party Intermediary) Working Group
OFGEM has started regulating suppliers working with TPIs since 2022 and so started to recognise TPIs as active industry participants.
Neil Shah, director at Switch Business is an active member of the OFGEM TPI Working Group established in 2024. The group meets at least once a quarter with OFGEM to discuss challenges and opportunities to improve the energy market for non-domestic customers and stakeholders.
Voluntary Signatory of the RECCo (Retail Energy Code Company) TPI Code of Practice
RECCo is appointed by OFGEM to own, maintain, and develop the Retail Energy Code set of rules for operating in the retail energy sector. All licensed energy suppliers, gas transporters, electricity distribution network operators, metering operators and the Data Communication Company (DCC) must comply with the REC.
RECCo has developed their TPI code of practice with industry stakeholders for signatories to treat their customers fairly and transparently.
