What a fantastic start to the new school year! The children returned with energy and enthusiasm, ready to dive back into their learning and it’s certainly shown in their work over the past few weeks…
In English, we’ve been busy planning persuasive, non-chronological reports all about our school. The children have shown some brilliant ideas and are learning how to use persuasive language to share what makes our school special.
Over in Maths, we’ve been exploring numbers in the hundreds, thousands and beyond! We’ve tackled place value, and practised comparing numbers using greater than, less than, and equals signs. It’s been amazing to see how confident the children are becoming with large numbers.
In PSHE, we’ve had some discussions around families and relationships. We also explored important topics like breaking down stereotypes (especially those linked to disabilities and gender) and learning to celebrate our differences. Our RE lessons have focused on religious harmony. We’ve been learning about different religions and non-religious worldviews, discovering how we can respect and understand each other’s beliefs.
In PE, the children have been thinking carefully about how their bodies move. We’ve explored how to travel faster or slower, paying attention to how our movements affect our speed and control.
Year 4 are currently still standing with 100% attendance making us winners for both Week 1 and 2. Keep it up!
