Emily Erb

Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) in the Middle East

I long to see movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.

Hi, I'm Emily! I'm passionate about making known the name Jesus among college students in the Middle East. God has called me to a place of hard soil with less than 100 known Believers, where hearts are slowly opening towards the draw of Christ.

Win. Build. Send. My prayer is that students are won to Christ, built up and equipped in their faith, and sent out to reach their communities and their nation, as future leaders and world changers in the name of Jesus!

My story

I grew up in a Christian home, following Christ from a young age. My parents taught me to love God and seek Him in every part of life, and I carried that desire into college. At the University of Arkansas, being part of a Christian community and experiencing discipleship deeply challenged my faith. I learned not only to love the people around me well, but also to share the hope of Jesus with them. It was there that my understanding of God’s heart for the world began to expand, especially His love for every tribe, nation, and tongue. The summer after my sophomore year, I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to the Middle East. I had never left the country or experienced another culture in this way, and I wasn’t prepared for how much it would change me. I met students who longed to build deep relationships, talk about hard things, and be truly known despite cultural expectations. Beneath their excitement was also fear, a fear of not being “good enough” and of trying to earn God’s favor through their own efforts. One of the friends I made while I was there, Tanya, invited me into her home. She shared that she prayed often, but didn’t know how God truly saw her or what He thought of her. She carried fear about the future and life after death. Hearing Tanya's story broke my heart, and reflected the reality of many others I met. At the same time, it confirmed my desire to help this part of the world know Jesus and the true hope He brings, not by anything we can do, but solely through His grace. I have seen that God can work in a summer, but lasting change comes through time, investment, and intentional relationships. My heart is to serve long-term, walking alongside these students as a witness, pointing them to Christ, and investing in their lives in a way that God will make a lasting impact. Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38). The Middle East is still unreached for a reason. We must go.

How I'll be Serving

As education has become a growing priority in this part of the world, a gap has emerged between the support students receive and the outcomes they are working toward. A central part of my ministry seeks to meet this need through a program called Study with Success, which connects our team with local universities. Through workshops, coaching, and English tutoring, we aim to support students in their personal and academic growth, equipping them for future success while building meaningful, lasting relationships. These connections often create natural opportunities for deeper conversations about faith. My heart is to walk alongside students in a relational way, investing in their lives, sharing the hope of the gospel, and discipling those who desire to grow in their understanding of God’s truth.

We all have a role to play in reaching the unreached. Will you join me?

Join in Prayer

The mission of God is built on prayer, and there is power when believers come together asking Him to make His name known. Would you consider fervently praying alongside me for those in the Middle East and as I step into this role?

Join in Financial Partnership

My ministry relies on the faithful monthly giving of individuals who desire to see God’s Kingdom grow in the Middle East. Would you consider joining my team by partnering with me financially?

Join In Connection

One of the greatest ways to partner is by connecting me with people in your life who might be encouraged by what God is doing. Think of church friends, family, or coworkers. While you can’t complete this mission alone, you know others who can help make it happen. I am so thankful to be supported by a community of people who are walking alongside me in this mission!
