Welcome to this weeks school newsletter. The tree is up and Christmas rehearsals are underway. It always takes a huge team effort produce a Christmas performance. The children are very excited and I am sure that you will get bombarded with songs and rehearsing lines over the next two weeks. Tickets for the shows went on sale this week. We said that it would be 2 tickets per family per show. However, you are allowed to swap and change tickets between each other if that helps some parents or grandparents. Please can I remind you that the consultation objection period is December 5th. Use the links and address that I have provided via dojo to air your concerns. Have a wonderful weekend - wrap up warm!

This week, Dosbarth Alwen have been focusing on numbers 1, 2 and 3, matching objects to the correct number. Reception have also been exploring the tricky concept of one more and one less, which we will continue to consolidate next week. During Udeskole, the children took on the responsibility of caring for the animals by feeding and watering them, collecting eggs and giving them gentle strokes. They were fantastic helpers and showed great care and respect. Weโve also been working incredibly hard on our Christmas play rehearsals and cannot wait to share it with family and friends very soon! Reception have really blown me away with their super CVC blending this week โ da iawn! ๐
Christmas has started in Dosbarth Padarn, with rehearsals underway ๐The children have been learning about measuring height and length and learning how to use a ruler to measure. This will prepare them for our Elf workshop opening next week in class! If you have any cardboard boxes, red or green material, wrapping paper, toilet/kitchen roll tubes it would be greatly appreciated!
In Udeskole, Padarn looked for lichen!! It means good air quality and....food for Santas furry helpers! We visited our own furry friends and made sure they had water and hay as well as learning about hoof care!
We have had another busy week in Dosbarth Tegid. In maths we continue our work on fractions. The children have been exploring parts of a whole and enjoyed playing a game with their friends. We are so excited to make pizza next week! It was a very cold outdoor learning session this week! The children created celebration sticks using wool to wrap around them, practising their fine motor skills and showing lots of creativity. They all looked brilliant! We have also been busy practising our songs for the Christmas concert which we are all very excited about! Da iawn pawb.
Dosbarth Brenig have continued diving into the history of our local area, from gyms, businesses and parks to our school and street names. Great opportunity for our pupils to show their independence as they then developed another blog! Podcast pending too with our new setup! In numeracy we have used real life skills to estimate and measure ingredients for a cake mix. We used vegetables from our harvest to make a chocolate and beetroot cake.....reviews were mixed! We also revisited maths skills and used them in our reasoning skills.

Classes have been harvesting and cooking vegetables from our garden. Amazing to see them being put to use...despite the negative reviews of our beetroot and chocolate cake! More tasks planned in the garden as we prepare for winter and a new growing season. Fantastic to see our pond filling! Eyes will be peeled for new residents moving in!
