A season of refinement. I have walked through a season of hardship only growing in maturity in faith and my leadership abilities. The Lord has been teaching me how to hold disappointment and also let that fuel the passion for the work I am doing for the Kingdom.
Life is messy; it's a journey of discovery and re-discovery. It's full of growth in the trials and learning how to have joy in the midst of all the moving parts. I am praising Him for how this journey is shaping my character to look more like His and how to give myself grace in the process.
Thank you for being with me on this journey of discovering how God is using us to bring others to Him. The foundation is being strengthened and we are launching into great things!
I want to start by sharing a HUGE praise report seeing healing come to a group of 37 women and a handful of volunteers.
This past Saturday night, we hosted a trauma healing night using art! Our guest speaker lead us through an activity reflecting what we have experienced - the good and the hard to create a garden on a canvas. We had an overwhelming response which we are still praising God for moving in each woman's heart and how this is bringing hope to these women and their stories.
This event was a by-product of training I received with a small group of local leaders in trauma therapy. We hope to continue these events and activities with these ladies as we all learn how to process and heal from past traumas and become whole in Christ.
In other news...
This past August I was able to attend The Cause retreat with 50 other missionaries all in various work around the world. It was a much needed time of refreshment and encouragement as we dove into our legacy.
These ladies (pictured) have had a significant impact on who I am today and so grateful we were all in the same physical location together for the first time in years!
Life and Role Update!
Speaking of The Cause, I have an exciting announcement! 🎉 I accepted a job offer to their new Administrative Assistant (part-time) Position! 🎉 I am SO excited to work alongside this team of world changers as we serve those who are sent to the nations to reach the underserved populations of the world.
What does this mean for me and you? Well, I am still continuing to pour into my local community here and empower leaders to come alongside the work the Lord is already doing. I will continue to partner with Face of Justice and the vision they have for seeing freedom and justice come to the exploited women and girls here in Costa Rica. I will have a more structured schedule with this new part-time position but also more opportunity to shine in my giftings while broadening the impact through helping our partners around the world! We are going international in our impact!
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." - Proverbs 16:3
For this past month I have been deep diving into the wisdom books - especially Proverbs. As there has been many transitions, surrender and pivoting in this past season which has lead me into deeper dependence in my Heavenly Father. My heart's desire is to learn and lead as the Lord shapes my character. Please reach out via email with any questions/concerns or just to connect with me - I value my support team!
Would you join me in prayer?
- Praise: For this new opportunity to serve on the team of The Cause.
- Personal: Creating rhythms in my new schedule and where I am prioritizing my time and resources.
- Ministry: Discernment in who and how to pour into the community of Jacó as it grows and expands. Wisdom in leading and serving my fellow partners in my new role.
- Bold Prayer: a home to host, to house interns and others looking for a place to heal!
