Hi. I'm Dave I Design, Create, and Develop

Who am I?

I’m not your average cubicle sitting type of guy. I thrive in creative environments where teams communicate, and ideas are shared. I want to make trends and push the boundaries instead of doing things because everyone else does it. I’m an innovator that wants to improve myself and my team every day. My experience has given me the opportunity to be involved in the full life cycle design/development, collaborate with multiple departments from business planning, storyboarding, marketing, designers, developers, and finally the end users. I work as a team instead of a siloed approach. I can take an idea written on a napkin to turn it into a full production ready product whether it’s for web, mobile, print, TV, and wherever you can place it!

My Portfolio

Some video animations I did long time ago. I’ve also designed and built games using Unity3d and 3D Studio Max. I wear multiple hats, can offer solutions to take any idea, and take it to completion. There’s more to me than just another developer. I offer business solutions even if it’s out of my comfort zone. I wanted to be a film director or an animator and that’s what I went after but my love for development and design was where I ended. I’m proud of my accomplishments because I’ve done everything from print design, web design and development, animation, game design and development, and so many more projects. I feel I have a lot to offer out of the box. If you’re hiring for an in box one trick pony, I’m not your guy. I’m also open to freelancing if you want my assistance but can’t hire me fulltime.

Independent Freelancer

2007 - present

Contracting has enabled me to have a vast experience in full life cycle design and development. Being involved with multiple projects and clients, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience enabling me to use out of the box planning and execution. Experiencing real world project challenges and successes, I am able to influence projects to end up with a greater success rate. Since no two projects and clients are the same, being able to interact with different people and technology has improved my ability to close the communication gap companies usually face on projects. My clients range from sole proprietorship, start-up, and enterprise businesses.

  • Since there is a wide range of differences in projects and clients when being a contractor, the standard tasks become too numerous to list. A few are listed as a reference.
  • Create low-fidelity/high-fidelity prototypes and mockups of the website and mobile apps.
  • Research, suggest, and implement current and emerging technology to meet a requirement.
  • Work with business stakeholders, designers, developers, and end users to take any requirements from concepts to finish products. This can entail designs for print, web, TV, etc or design and development for desktop, web, mobile media, games, etc.
  • Manage resources when projects require additional outsourced personal. Verify code quality and that it complies with best practices.
  • Ensure cross-browser/device compatibility
  • Research, reverse engineer, and fix defects.
