CALL FOR INTEREST
With support from the Department of Women and Gender Equality, the UN Global Compact Network Canada is leading a transformative 30-month initiative to advance women's representation in workplace leadership by examining and elevating male allyship. This groundbreaking research project addresses systemic barriers such as gender norms, leadership models, and power dynamics, culminating in the development of a comprehensive Allyship Action Guide. This guide will empower organizations and individuals to integrate allyship into their diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
Through the focus groups, we are committed to facilitating a space for candid discussions on allyship with women and gender-diverse employees. We especially wish to hear from those who are a part of Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities. The focus groups aim to understand existing challenges to women’s career development, identify gaps in allyship and ensure the development of the Allyship Action Guide is grounded as an intersectional and practical tool.
FOCUS GROUP PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS
Focus group participants will be asked to share their experiences and insights on how allyship efforts from men have affected their career trajectory. These discussions will be used as the foundation to develop an Allyship Action Guide that includes individual and organizational strategies to enhance allyship.
