Haverford College Overview
Haverford College is one of the premier liberal arts colleges in the country, offering an elite academic experience in a close-knit, highly intellectual community. Located just outside Philadelphia, Haverford gives students the best of both worlds: a beautiful residential campus with direct access to Philadelphia and the surrounding Main Line area. Haverford Men’s Soccer Overview
Haverford Men’s Soccer is one of the most historic college soccer programs in the country. Founded in 1901, Haverford is the oldest college soccer program in the nation and proudly carries the identity of being the “Home of College Soccer.” The program has a remarkable tradition of success, including 8 national championships, 12 conference titles, and 2 undefeated seasons in program history: 1945 and 2025. Haverford Men’s Soccer has a proud tradition of success, including Centennial Conference championships, NCAA Tournament appearances, and a 2015 NCAA Elite Eight run. The program has also produced a long list of outstanding players and 81 All-Americans throughout its history. That history reflects the standard, pride, and competitive excellence that have defined Haverford Men’s Soccer for generations. Today, Haverford combines elite academics with a highly competitive Division III soccer environment. The program competes in the Centennial Conference, one of the strongest Division III conferences in the country. Our expectation is that players are fully committed to excelling both academically and athletically. The current program is built around a strong team culture, high standards, and daily commitment to development. We want players who are serious about their craft, who care about being part of something bigger than themselves, and who want to be challenged in every area of their college experience. On the field, we are looking to play intelligent, competitive, and connected soccer. We value players who are technical, tactically aware, physically prepared, and mentally tough. Just as important, we want players who bring energy, humility, resilience, and a team-first mindset every day. Haverford's small size makes possible a highly personalized, hands-on educational experience. Professors work side-by-side with students to do high-level research while also developing analytical thinking and pushing the boundaries of each discipline.
As a Haverford student, you are free to take classes at Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore Colleges, and the University of Pennsylvania offers a 4 + 1 engineering program that grants a B.S. from Haverford and a master's from Penn in just five years.
