Painter Tabbed Third Team ABCA/Rawlings All-American

Senior Harry Painter (Essex, MA) became the 8th player in program history to be honored with ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors.

The two-way player was a third-team selection to the national team under the Utility position.

Among all NCAA Division III players in 2024, Painter was ranked in both offensive and pitching categories:

  • 9th: Hits Allowed per 9/innings (5.44)
  • 22nd: Strikeouts per 9/innings (12.29)
  • 29th: Doubles (18)
  • 117th: Earned Run Average (3.02)

Trio Earns ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Honors

Seniors Harry Painter (Essex, MA), Jonny Gilbride (Beverly, MA) and Garret Roberts (Stratham, NH) earned ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selections for Region II.

The trio also represented Suffolk in the 49th Joe Walsh New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star Game.

Painter was a first-team selection as at the Utility position. He finished the season hitting .350 with 28 extra base hits. He became the first player in program history to record multiple seasons with 100+ total bases. He was also 5-1 on the mound with a 3.02 era, punching out 61 hitters in 44 1/3 innings pitched.

Roberts was a first-team selection at the Designated Hitter position. He was tied for the conference lead in triples (7) which was the 5th best total nationally. He hit .371 on the season with an OPS of 1.133. Roberts also logged a team-high 60 innings on the mound. He is the first player over the last 25 years to collect 100 career hits while also striking out 100 hitters.

Gilbride was a second-team selection as a Shortstop. Gilbride had a monster offensive season that saw him hit 10 home runs, drive in 51 runs while also scoring 51 times. He became just the second player in program history to join the 50-50 club in those offensive categories. He collected 107 total bases on the year.

MENTAL PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT

Jamey Mroz worked directly with the Baseball program for the 2024 season. Jamey collaborated with players and coaches in both individual and team settings to develop mental performance throughout the season as well as leading discussions to help instill team culture, values, identity.

Jamey specializes in enhancing the psychological and emotional aspects of player performance. He works closely with each athlete to develop mental resilience, focus, and mindfulness on and off the field.

Before starting his own business, Jamey Mroz Peak Performance, Jamey worked for the Cleveland Browns as the Director of Sports Science. Prior to that he worked with Ignition APG while also serving as a Sports Science Consultant for the Cincinnati Bengals. Mroz also coached at Vanderbilt University, New York Giants, New York Jets, Southeastern Louisiana University, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, as well as Boston College and Harvard University football.
