23 year old singer/songwriter Grete began her musical career in Lithuania. After many years of singing pop and jazz covers on TV, international contests and musical theatre she moved to the UK and started writing her own music. Influenced by artists like Jazmine Sullivan, The Weeknd, MARO and Yebba, Grete began writing vocally colourful and harmonically intricate songs with strong messages and old R&B references. The artist has released her first three singles in 2024: ‘With u’, ‘How Long’ and ‘Cz u don’t’, following with her debut EP ‘Grey’. With her first solo project Grete is trying to reach people’s hearts by telling romance stories from the past over sophisticated musical arrangements.
Grete performed her EP with the RNCM's session orchestra and participated in the Golden Medal Session Orchestra competition in Manchester.
Recently the artist released her second EP 'Cry in Colour' - bold, pop and R&B, colourful and a fun project. Starting with a single 'SKINNY BONES' - sweet, funky and catchy, while still retaining Grete’s hallmark powerful delivery. The singer's second single 'Different' has been shown love by BBC Introducing Manchester and many blogs like 'EARMILK', 'Lefuturewave', 'QH Sound' and others. The last single 'JUICE' pulls from classic R&B stylings. The new pop appeal of Grete’s music can be attributed to artists like Tove Lo, ELIZA, The Weeknd and even Whitney Houston.
"I hope Grete releases a double album some day, with one volume containing Whitney Houston-style dance gems and the other featuring complex chords and time signatures. With her wide-ranging talent, it wouldn’t surprise me if she opened for Drake and played Carnegie Hall next year." - Beats Per Minute editor Larry Mcclain.
