Folklore Society
Folklore Society is a music collective based in Manchester, formed by Johnny Evans and Wayne Edwards. Both Evans and Edwards are experienced musicians who have played with well-known acts such as Happy Mondays, Buffalo 66, and Liam Gallagher. Their music is described as a captivating blend of beautiful, original, and moving soundscapes fuelled by their rich musical history.
Folklore Society goes beyond the traditional band model. Johnny lays the foundation of their music, drawing inspiration from artists like Eivør, Kate Bush, Sigur Rós, and Peter Gabriel. Wayne then contributes his sonic touch, playing a variety of instruments and shaping the final product. Their collaboration extends beyond music, with Wayne creating captivating visuals for live performances and their online presence.
More than just music, Folklore Society is dedicated to fostering a thriving community. They celebrate the pagan festivals of the Wheel of the Year, and their debut LP is a sonic exploration of nature, love, death, and the mysteries of life. The band releases new music and films on each corresponding festival date, offering a unique and immersive experience for their audience.
Folklore Society invites you to join their world, where music and community come together to create an unforgettable experience.
