Relaxation/Reflection Room Now Open!

Room C247, inside the library, is now the Relax/Reflect Room. This room is available to all students, faculty, staff and is open the same hours as the library. You do not need to make a reservation to use the room. I encourage you to stop by to take a tour.

Thanks to Dean & Scott from Facilities for their work in preparing the room. And thanks to Kelly Daubek and the Diversity, Equity, and Belonging Committee for supporting this effort.

There are tools and resources in the space to help with relaxation or reflection:

Happy Light - mimics sunlight to enhance mood, energy, sleep, and focus

Sound Machine - with white noise and nature sounds

Noise Cancelling Headphones, Yoga Mats, Beanbags, Floor Cushions

Other releaxation resources: coloring pages, fidget toys, lego, puzzles, zen sand garden, buddha board, mindfulness & meditation cards, and more.

Let the Library Do It: Supplemental Resource Creation

The campus librarians are available for supplemental resource creation. This can be anything from a list of books, articles, other reading from the library on a specific topic, a library guide that assists students in completing an assignment, or a video tutorial that show how to find and use library resources for the course, topic, or assignment. Let the library help you find and create resources for your courses.

If you are developing or re-working assignments for the Fall 2023 semester, now if a great time to work with the library to make sure the resources are available!

Contact Heather Ayres in Valparaso to discuss ways to incorporate library resources and services into your class.

Online Library Sessions - Open to All

We provide course specific and general library instruction sessions online via Zoom. All sessions take place live at 1pm Central. All those that RSVP will get a recording the same day.
