Fifth Grade Presents Creative Ideas in Shark Tank Challenge

Fifth grade students recently concluded their Inventors and Innovation unit with a classroom version of Shark Tank. Working individually or in small groups, students created an original product or business concept and prepared a persuasive pitch for a panel of guest “sharks.”

Throughout the project, students identified a problem or need, developed a solution, and showcased their reasoning through design, advertising, and presentation. The panel heard a wide range of creative ideas, including:

  • Jayleigh Swayze – Bead Bound
  • Clay Whorrall and Brooks Swayze-Epolito – The Card Corner
  • Gunner Smith – Washer Wacker
  • Riley Wentworth – The Book Nook
  • Piper Kelly – Swirl and Twirl
  • Elijah Coye and Aubree Mennig – Stick and Store
  • Kaiden Magee and Lane Ramsey – Slingshot 2000

The event highlighted students’ abilities to problem‐solve, communicate clearly, and think like young entrepreneurs. Their creativity and teamwork were evident from planning to final presentations.
