Alliance between ChildFund Bolivia and Educo reveals that more than two million children and adolescents face the climate crisis in the country.

In a joint effort to shed light on the “climate debt” owed to new generations, ChildFund Bolivia and Educo presented a comprehensive study warning of the extreme vulnerability of more than two million children and adolescents to droughts, wildfires, and floods. The research, unveiled in the cities of La Paz and Santa Cruz, reveals that the crisis impacts fundamental rights such as health, education, and food security in key municipalities of the Amazon, the Chaco, and the Andean region, where factors like structural poverty exacerbate the risk. In light of this scenario, both institutions urge decision-makers to ensure direct climate financing and include children’s voices in resilience strategies, reaffirming that joint efforts among organizations are vital to protect the present and future of Bolivian childhood.
