This course is designed as an intermediate level course aimed to train students on the principles of effectively operating as a solo, Cell or single team (up to full team level) in an urban environment and within low to high threat encounters.
Students, who will complete the week long program, will be able to conduct low to high threat CQB related tasks in compressed environments. The week will be very intensive both physically and mentally and includes several Force on Force simulations in conjunction with extended length of practical training around the clock.
ITCQB is an Israeli / American hybrid CQB system, which was developed through time by Eli Feildboy, the founder of Project Gecko. The system “framework” is not only Israeli and encompasses a variety of concepts, which were either developed or perfected through careful study and integrity.

OVERVIEW OF TOPICS
THE SYSTEM.
The Immediate Threat CQB or - ITCQB Methodology - is a high threat close encounters. The methodology put focus on Resistance based tactics.
Project Gecko's ITCQB System is already in use in various departments, agencies and other organizations. The System's main focus is human behavior-based concepts and delivers tactics that focus on human response rather than make-believe paper target concepts. On the practical side, the ITCQB system is a hybrid, multipurpose application of Limited Penetration. It provides multiple speeds and does not rely heavily on team size or other operational constraints such as surprise or superiority. Simply put, our tactical concepts offer simultaneous offensive and defensive advantages.
Be advised, the list of topics is a rough overview due to OPSEC. Please inquire for specific questions!
THEORETICAL MATERIAL
- Introduction to the ITCQB system
- Room anatomy
- Intro to Human behavior and its effect on tactics
INDIVIDUAL SKILL
Purpose: Assessment and settings standards in regards to weapon manipulation and handling in close quarters, for purpose of safety and efficiency.
- Merging the Shooting range techniques - with circumstances. When and what weapon position is appropriate for what circumstance in CQB
- Classification of Rifle to Handgun Manipulations in compressed environments.
WEAPON FLOW & PREVENTION OF FF.
Close quarters means things happen fast, and unexpectedly. With that being said, add the short distances involved - and we are looking into higher probability of safety issues. here, students will learn why such situations occur (behavioral background) and will acquire tools to prevent such circumstances as they will develop the required awareness.
- Theory: Principles and drills to mititgate Friendly Fire / safety issues common in CQB
- Practical: Drills concerning Prevention of friendly fire or / and non-combatant shooting incidents
- Focus: open spaces to confined spaces SOPs in regards to FF prevention.
SOLO CQB
No one want to clear rooms alone. but reality says otherwise. Solo training is both relevant for some circumstances in reality, but also provide alot of benefits from educational perspective.
- Footwork & interchangeable speeds around the threshold
- Room clearing principles for the approach as well as clearing of Center Feds & Corner Feds
- Emphasizing the principle difference between rifle to handgun handling wise
- Intro to Door interaction techniques
- Basic Room to room considerations
CELL CAPACITY (Two man)
- Default to Deliberate room clearing tactics (Center to Corner Feds)
- Door interaction techniques
- Internal room clearing (clearing of depths inside rooms)
- Hold up entries (HL)
TEAM CAPACITIES
- Deliberate to Default clearing TTPs
- Door interactions (push vs pull door)
- Basic intro to Room-to-room tactics
- Deconflictions
- Self Extract (pointman down) Concept

STUDENT LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Students will be able to identify specific dangers and challenges associated with the urban terrain, precisely inside buildings.
- Students will be able to identify and relate to the impact of human behavior on their performance and how it influences a real human interaction in hostile settings.
- Students will be aware and able to account for the impact of ballistics on the operator and hes environmental safety.
- Students will become aware on the advantages and disadvantages of Limited Penetration techniques
- Students will be able to distinguish between context, skills, tactics, and appropriate response
- Students will be able to clear rooms in both defensive or aggressive manner
- Students can carry out tactical tasks solo, cell or team level without direct dependency on surprise or other equipment enhancements.
- Students will familiarize with the positional considerations in relation to threat positioning in spaces.
- Students will be able to conduct different forms of tactics as a response to different terrain considerations, changing mission profile, or opponent actions.
- Students will be able to clear rooms with closed or open doors and maneuver inside the room, in and around visual obstacles.
- Students will apply different tactical decision-making based on what they learned in Force on force environment.
FORCE ON FORCE & SCENARIOS.
Our Facility is equipped with 360 Degrees camera systems. We will conclude Force on Force validation drills with an After Action report in the class room where instructors and students will review Camera footage of the scenarios. getting the most out of the training!
Force on Force driven scenarios will be conducted throughout the course progress and will act as a validation at different phases to confirm to the student that what he practices actually works. The FOFs will begin with low intensity one-room clearing and will gradually increase in both complexity and size into team-level room clearing to a structure clearing.
