Monkton Park Newsletter Friday 6th October 2023

We're delighted to say that we have now installed a defibrillator on the outside of our bungalow. The DFE have given all schools a defibrillator and our former governor, Mrs Hearn, has very kindly funded the cabinet. We will be officially opening the bungalow next Friday and we may even have a visit from the mayor to cut the red ribbon.

Please note that our final day at school this term is Tuesday 17th October due to Wednesday 18th being a teacher training day.

We had lots of smiling faces in our assembly yesterday. We had a visit from 'Rocksteady' who played some live pop music to the children. Everyone certainly seemed to enjoy it and over the course of the year we will have a wide range of visitors and guests who we hope will inspire the children.

World Mental Health Day - Non Uniform - Tuesday 10th October

Tuesday 10th October is World Mental Health Day and we will be taking part in HelloYellow by holding a "Non Uniform" day (if your child does not have any yellow to wear please do not worry - they can wear any clothes of their choice).

We can all struggle with how we’re feeling, but sometimes things get tough and it can be difficult to cope. For so many young people, when this happens, they don’t get the help they need, when they need it. But together, we can change this.

By wearing yellow this World Mental Health Day on 10 October, and donating what you can, you can show young people that you’re with them. Show them that they matter and deserve the support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

If you wish to donate please go to https://www.youngminds.org.uk/support-us/donate/
