PAST
1986 The 100th "House that Love Built" opens with 18 bedrooms in New Hyde Park. 2005 24 private bedrooms are added, allowing us to serve 42 families at a time out of New Hyde Park. 2013 The first Family Room opens at Stony Brook Children's Hospital, expanding our care programs across Long Island. 2014 Project Design Phase I & II are complete with $5 million in donated renovations services and furnishings. 2022 The second Family Room opens at Stony Brook Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
PRESENT
2023 We announce the Capital Campaign to build a new 30-bedroom Ronald McDonald House at Stony Brook Children's Hospital. 2024 McDonald's restaurants reach $1 million in Round Up for Ronald McDonald House in the New York Metro area. 2024 Launched the new Hospitality Cart at Cohen Children's Medical Center, serving families at the bedside. 2024 The new Summer Kids Club offers enriching and fun experiences for kids and their siblings while they're off of school. 2025 Created the Youth Advisory Council, a high school student volunteer group. Students participate in speaking engagements, fundraising, and more. 2025 The McDonald's All American Games are hosted in New York City! 42 of the top basketball players stop by the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park.
FUTURE
2026 Construction begins on the new Ronald McDonald House in Stony Brook. 2026 Ronald McDonald House celebrates 40 years of care on Long Island. 2028 Ronald McDonald House Stony Brook scheduled to open to families with children at Suffolk County's only children's hospital.
