On Friday, January 31st at 5:30, Northview hosted a dinner in the cafeteria, gathering veterans in the Northview community to give our thanks and love for their time spent in service of our country.

Before the dinner and speeches begin, the Northview community connects with some of the veterans, welcoming and making them comfortable.

Juniors Elyse Fix, Emma Armstrong, and Ava Matlosz along with the rest of the Northview cheer team help carry in Qdoba, setting up the food for the veterans.

Kicking off the dinner, Assistant Principal Brent Dickerson introduces the purpose of the gathering and schedule for the evening.

Chana shares his Navy experience and the overflowing emotions he feels when surrounded by fellow veterans.

Chana gets emotional while sharing his speech about the experience he had, along with the people he connected with during his time in the Navy.

Following Chana's speech, attendees view a video of a high school basketball coach sharing a testimony on how his military experience helped shaped his basketball team into well-mannered and mindful young men.

Seniors Chloe and Olivia Blumke, junior Keiarrah Reid, and the rest of the cheer team join the veterans during the national anthem.

During the heartfelt video the National Anthem begins, veterans stand with their right hand over their chests, their left hand behind them, saluting the american flag.

Following up the video, the veterans begin to grab their Qdoba and bond over a shared meal.

After the dinner ended, the veterans were honored as part of the pre-game ceremony before the varsity game against Union high school. The teams along with the veterans enter the floor for the national anthem. This tribute ended the night.

The Northview community collectively gives a huge thanks and appreciation to the veterans who served for our country, putting their lives at risk to give our country a heartbeat. Your brave hearts and strong minds saved our country and the lives in it.
