Dear HHIS families,
We hope you had an enjoyable and restful week, and are ready for another action-packed half term!
This week we feature a report from Mr Tam, on the Year 6 residential trip to iCamp in the week before the holidays. During the trip, they visited the River Kwai Bridge & War cemetery to contextualise their learning on World War 2. It was an unforgettable experience for the students & staff involved.
Year 6 had the most amazing 3 days at ICamp in Kanchanaburi, where the children showed their inquisitive, inclusive and innovative mindsets, as well as becoming more independent.
Day 1: Team Building Fun
We kicked off our adventure with an adrenaline-packed afternoon of team building games. It was all about communication, trust, and working together, to race through three challenging activities, including straw structures, 5 in-a-sack and a newspaper tank! After this, we finished with a pool afternoon, with all of Year 6 trying to make it across the obstacle course, with teachers adding to the challenges in the water! To finish the first day, each dormitory was inspected, with mixed results across the three rooms (more to come on this later).
Day 2: Historical Insights
On the morning of Day 2, after a sensational breakfast, including pancakes and sliders, we were able to create candles and fire, popping our own corn. In the afternoon, the highlight of the day was our visit to the Death Railway, where we stepped back in time to experience life during World War II. The children showed an incredible amount of respect and asked such thoughtful and sensitive questions, showing their inquisitive nature and they were able to bring their current topic lessons to life. A highlight was seeing the interest each child took in the lives of those that had been lost.
Grand Finale: The Talent Show!
Our final evening was all about letting loose and celebrating an amazing 2 nights. We had a talent show that was nothing short of spectacular. Everyone was up dancing, singing, and showcasing their incredible talents. The talent and energy in the room were absolutely electric and was a perfect example of what an amazing groups of students we have at HHIS.
Day 3: The Final Morning
After another great night of sleep, the children did themselves proud with how they left the cabins in perfect condition and we left to come back to HHIS (after a marvellous stop at 7/11)
Year 6 did themselves proud and showcased Hua Hin International School in an amazing light.

Parent Teacher Meetings: a reminder
Our parent teacher meetings are taking place on Monday 23rd October.. There will be no lessons in school on that day, but we encourage your children to attend these meetings with you. The parent meetings booking system on Schoolbase is open and will close tomorrow on Wednesday 18th October. We look forward to seeing you all at these important meetings.

เรียน ผู้ปกครองทุกท่าน
เราหวังว่าคุณจะมีช่วงเวลาที่สนุกสนานและได้พักผ่อนในสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา และเตรียมพร้อมสำหรับกิจกรรมมากมายในช่วงครึ่งภาคการศึกษานี้
ในสัปดาห์นี้ เราได้รับรายงานจาก Mr Tam เกี่ยวกับการไปทัศนศึกษาของนักเรียนชั้น Y6 ณ ไอแคมป์ ในสัปดาห์ก่อนวันหยุด โดยการเดินทางไปทัศนศึกษา พวกเขาได้ไปเยี่ยมชมสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว และสุสานทหารสัมพันธมิตร เพื่อศึกษาเกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์สงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ซึ่งนับเป็นประสบการณ์ที่น่าจด��ำสำหรับนักเรียนและครูที่เกี่ยวข้อง
นักเรียนชั้น Y6 ยังตื่นเต้นไปกับการเข้าค่ายพักแรม ณ ไอแคมป์ จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี ที่ซึ่งเด็กๆ สามารถแสดงให้เห็นถึงความอยากรู้อยากเห็น การมีส่วนร่วม และแนวความคิดริเริ่มสร้างสรรค์ โดยเป็นส่วนช่วยให้พวกเขามีความเป็นอิสระมากขึ้น
วันที่ 1: ความสนุกสนานในการสร้างทีม
เราเริ่มต้นการผจญภัยแอดเวนเจอร์เพิ่มสารอะดรีนาลีนในช่วงบ่ายด้วยเกมการสร้างทีม โดยเกี่ยวกับการสื่อสาร ความไว้วางใจ และการทำงานร่วมกัน เพื่อแข่งขัน 3 กิจกรรมที่ท้าทาย ประกอบด้วย โครงสร้างหลอด วิ่งกระสอบ และหนังสือพิมพ์กระดาษ หลังจากเสร็จสิ้นกิจกรรมที่สระว่ายน้ำในช่วงบ่าย นักเรียนทั้งหมดพยายามข้ามผ่านสิ่งกีดขวาง โดยมีครูที่ช่วยเพิ่มความท้าทายในน้ำ เมื่อจบกิจกรรมวันแรก พวกเขาได้ไปเยี่ยมชมหอพัก และมีการผสมรวมทั้ง 3 ที่พัก (มีรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมหลังจากนี้)
วันที่ 2: ข้อมูลเชิงลึกทางประวัติศาสตร์
ในช่วงเช้าวันที่ 2 หลังจากรับประทานอาหารเช้าที่แสนอร่อย ประกอบไปด้วย แพนเค้กชั้น เรายังได้ออกแบบเทียนและไฟ เพื่อทำป๊อบคอร์นของตัวเอง ในช่วงบ่าย ไฮไลท์ของวันคือ เราได้ไปเดินทางไปเยี่ยมชมทางรถไฟสายมรณะ ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่ที่เราได้ย้อนเวลากลับไปสู่ประสบการณ์ชีวิตช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 เด็กๆ ได้แสดงให้เห็นถึงความเคารพอย่างน่าเหลือเชื่อ และตั้งคำถามเกี่ยวกับแนวความคิดและคำถามที่ละเอียดอ่อน แสดงให้เห็นถึงความอยากรู้อยากเห็นด้านธรรมชาติ และพวกเขายังนำหัวข้อบทเรียนนี้มาสู่ชีวิตจริง สิ่งสำคัญที่สุดที่น่าสนใจและได้เห็นคือ เด็กแต่ละคนมีความสนใจเกี่ยวกับการมีชีวิตและผู้ที่สูญเสีย
สุดท้าย: การแสดงพิเศษ
ค่ำคืนสุดท้ายของเรา มีการกล่าวถึงการสูญเสียและการเฉลิมฉลองอย่างน่าอัศจรรย์สำหรับ 2 คืน เรามีการแสดงพิเศษที่โดดเด่น ทุกคนลุกขึ้นมาเต้น ร้องเพลง และการแสดงพิเศษที่มีความสามารถอันน่าทึ่ง ความสามารถและพลังงานในห้องนั้นมีอย่างล้นเหลือ และเป็นแบบอย่างกลุ่มที่สมบูรณ์แบบของนักเรียนในโรงเรียนนานาชาติหัวหิน
วันที่ 3: ช่วงเช้าวันสุดท้าย
หลังจากการนอนพักอีกคืน เด็กๆ มีความภูมิใจในตัวเองที่จะทำอย่างไรให้ตัวเองออกจากที่พักโดยสภาพที่สมบูรณ์ และพร้อมกลับมาโรงเรียน (หลังจากที่แวะจุดพัก 7-11)
นักเรียนชั้น Y6 มีความภาคภูมิใจในตนเองและการแสดงพิเศษของโรงเรียนนานาชาติหัวหินนั้นน่าอัศจรรย์มาก Mr Tam กล่าว
ประชุมผู้ปกครอง: การแจ้งเตือน
การประชุมผู้ปกครองจะจัดขึ้นในวันจันทร์ที่ 23 ตุลาคม 2566 โดยจะไม่มีการเรียนการสอนในวันดังกล่าว แต่เราต้องการให้นักเรียนมีส่วนร่วมในการประชุมกับผู้ป���ครองด้วย สำหรับการจองนัดหมายผ่านระบบ Schoolbase และจะปิดระบบการจองในวันพรุ่งนี้ วันพุธที่ 18 ตุลาคม 2566 เราตั้งตารอคอยที่จะพบกับคุณในการประชุมครั้งสำคัญนี้
