Help Us restore power faster
As storm season approaches, ensuring our crews can access your property is an important preventative step. If your home or farm has an electric or chained gate, please make sure Central Georgia EMC has access.
For electric gates, you can provide a gate code. If your gate is secured with a chain, we are happy to install a CGEMC lock alongside yours. Having access ahead of time helps our crews respond quickly and safely during outages.
Without access, restoration may be delayed while we try to reach you for a code. To add a gate code to your account, call us at 770-775-7857. Thank you for helping us respond quickly and safely.
CGEMC EARNS AN ACSI® 2025 CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AWARD!
CGEMC is honored to have earned a 2025 Customer Satisfaction Award* from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI®) based on our member survey results. Members were asked to rate their overall satisfaction with us, how well we lived up to their expectations, and how well we measured up to their ideal co-op experience. While these were not the only questions in the survey, we included these specifically because they are the core components of the proprietary ACSI methodology.
CGEMC's ACSI score substantially outperforms the industry average score earned by publicly measured utilities reported in the 2025 ACSI Energy Utility Study. This award is a testament to CGEMC's ongoing efforts to provide the best possible member experience.
The 2025 Customer Satisfaction Award affirms that CGEMC's hard work has been noticed by its members. CGEMC is grateful for its members and will continue to strive for excellence through constant dedication to improvement.
*Award criteria are determined by the ACSI® and are based on customers' rating their satisfaction in a survey independent of the syndicated ACSI Energy Utility Study. For more about the ACSI, visit www.theacsi.org/badges. ACSI and its logo are registered trademarks of the American Customer Satisfaction Index LLC.
capture your share of the sun!
Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC) is dedicated to providing reliable energy while reducing our carbon footprint. As part of this commitment, CGEMC partners with Green Power EMC to offer renewable energy options that help members make a positive environmental impact.
Want to enjoy solar energy without installing rooftop panels? CGEMC’s Cooperative Solar program makes it easy. For $19 a month, members can add a 1 kW block of solar power to their account.
The energy output varies with weather and seasonal conditions, but on average, a 1 kW block generates about 180 kWh a month. This is a hassle-free way to support clean energy without any installation costs or equipment maintenance.
In addition to Cooperative Solar, CGEMC supports Green Power biomass energy, which converts landfill methane from multiple landfills across Georgia into electricity.
By purchasing 150 kWh blocks for just $4.50 a month, members help reduce harmful methane emissions while supporting renewable power generation in Georgia.
Both programs are Green-e Energy Certified, ensuring they meet the highest sustainability and consumer protection standards. By participating in these programs, members actively contribute to a cleaner, greener future. Learn more at www.cgemc.com.
Repair, Refresh, and Renovate With a 2025 CGEMC Residential Rebate!
Did you know that nearly half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling? Upgrading an outdated or aging system can save you money. If your unit is more than 10 years old and needs frequent repairs, it may be time to replace it.
Water heaters use more energy than your refrigerator, clothes washer, dishwasher, and dryer combined. Upgrading your water heater can save you hundreds of dollars every year on energy costs. Visit www.cgemc.com for all the details and to see if you qualify.
*A load management switch must be installed on qualifying equipment by a Central Georgia EMC employee before the rebate can be processed. The load management switch must remain on equipment and in operating status as long as Central Georgia EMC has a load management program. Limit one (1) qualifying heat pump and/or one (1) qualifying water heater rebate per member/household. Heat pump and/or water heater must have been installed on or after January 1, 2025.
Notice of capital credits assignment
Central Georgia EMC announces that the capital credits assignment for 2024 is 8.50%. In an electric membership cooperative structure like CGEMC, each dollar paid in excess of the cost of providing service is an investment in CGEMC by its members.
At the end of the year, and after all expenses are paid, any remaining funds are assigned to members’ accounts. CGEMC’s margins are used as capital until they can be returned through a general refund without impairing the cooperative’s financial condition.
Your capital credits assignment is calculated by multiplying your total electric bill for the year, minus the sales tax and any miscellaneous charges, times 8.50%.
For example:
- If your annual bill totaled $500 x .0850, then your assignment is $42.50
- If your annual bill totaled $1,000 x .0850, then your assignment is $85.00
- If your annual bill totaled $1,500 x .0850, then your assignment is $127.50
- If your annual bill totaled $2,000 x .0850, then your assignment is $170.00
Note: Assignments do not include Central Georgia EMC large power accounts.

Investing in the future: Meet our summer interns
Central Georgia EMC is proud to support the next generation of talent through our summer internship program. Please join us in welcoming our 2025 interns: Jaycie Charette, Kason Ingram, and Sam Keldie!
These bright students will spend the summer gaining real-world experience and learning how electric cooperatives serve their communities. We are excited to have them on board as they explore careers in the energy industry and gain insight into what it means to be part of a member-owned cooperative.
We are incredibly grateful for our members who participate in Operation Round Up. Your generosity helps enrich lives throughout our local communities. By simply rounding up your bill to the nearest dollar each month, with an average yearly contribution of just $6, you help fund important programs that directly serve our members.
Join us at the Annual Meeting!

As a special thank you, if you enroll in Operation Round Up during the Annual Meeting, you will be entered into a drawing to win a bill credit!
