Criw Cymraeg
On Thursday the school was assessed as part of the Siarter Iaith Cymraeg Campus. The Criw and Mrs Haine have worked tirelessly across the school to meet all targets towards the silver award (gwobr arian). The school were pleased to receive the following report.
Cymraeg Campus has been a high priority for the school and this could be seen during the verification visit. By now, Cymraeg Campus has become an integral part of the school ethos and consequently, Welsh is securely embedded at Ysgol Ffordun.
The school has worked diligently to succeed in meeting the success criteria for each target in the silver award. Staff members have worked as a team to ensure that Welsh is continuing to develop and has a growing profile at Ysgol Ffordun. The school has been successful in achieving the silver award and is ready to begin work on the gold award.
School Eisteddfod
We wish to thank all governors who helped judge the art and handwriting entries, parents who came to watch and support the children, and both Mrs Benbow and Mrs Kershaw for adjudicating the dance, singing and recitation competitions. The response from pupils and parents has been lovely to hear.
Photographs of the competitions will be uploaded to the school website.

Message from School Nurse Service
There will be an additional MMR vaccination clinic Saturday 23 March 2024 (9.20am to 4.30pm) at Newtown and Bronllys. Please check Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) Website and Social Media pages for further opportunities for vaccination over the next few weeks.
School Police Officers
School Beat Cymru funds 68 school police officers across Wales' four forces to deliver lessons on substance misuse, safety, safeguarding and behaviour. This is an invaluable part of out PHSE programme in school. Unfortunately WG funding will cease at Easter. Please follow the link to an online petition to Welsh Government to continue funding this provision. Please share this link.
Governor Vacancies
We have two vacancies on our governing body for Community Governors. These can be any member of the community and do not need to have a connection to the school. If you know of someone in Forden who has the skills or experience required to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school, and would like this opportunity to help direct the strategic direction of the school, please contact Mrs Fowler.
