Y10 Photography Trip Borough Market and Tate Modern

Year 10 students completed their first location shoot at Borough Market.

After students had experimented with photography and tasted the free samples of chocolate strawberries, we walked along the Southbank to Tate Modern.

The students' brief was to respond to the photographer Geraldo de Barros and his abstract photography of structures.

Students captured theĀ geometric shapes and leading lines of the Borough Market area.

After lunch we walked along the South Bank to Tate Modern.

Students were inspired by the range of contemporary art on display at Tate Modern and wandered around the gallery taking pictures of artworks that relate to the theme of our current project "Surfaces and Structure"

"A photograph is a fraction of a second, frozen. So, the moment you've looked at it, for even four seconds, you're looking at it far more than a camera did." David Hockney

Later we will develop the shoot by experimenting with digital manipulation on photoshop. Layering, rotating and blending their photographs to create double exposures.
