Exploring Futures in Environmental Science
As part of Otselic Valley’s Senior Seminar series, students recently welcomed Samuel Doubleday from SUNY Morrisville’s Environmental Science program. During his visit on September 15, Mr. Doubleday spoke with seniors about the diverse academic and career pathways available in environmental science — from conservation and sustainability to natural resource management and environmental technology.
The presentation gave students valuable insight into how their current coursework connects to real-world opportunities and helped them consider how they might contribute to solving environmental challenges in the future.
Otselic Valley extends its thanks to Mr. Doubleday and SUNY Morrisville for sharing their expertise and inspiring our seniors to see how today’s learning can shape tomorrow’s possibilities.
Career Exploration Spotlight: Rounds Masonry Visits OV
A big thank you to Terry (Class of 2001) and Britinie Rounds from Rounds Masonry for speaking with the Senior Seminar class on October 3 as part of the Career Exploration Series. Terry shared his experiences as a mason, while Britinie discussed her role as an office manager. Together, they offered valuable insight into owning a business, networking, customer service, what they look for in employees, and how high school courses can connect to careers in masonry and office management. We truly appreciate them taking the time to share their knowledge and real-world experience with our seniors!
