Welcome! Digital Tools for Student Success

This session provides an introduction to technology platforms and additional resources at Baylor that will empower your learning.

  • Essential Resources
  • Some Digital Security Basics
  • Learning Spaces and Additional Resources

Bear ID

A unique electronic identifier that enables you to access many online platforms and technology resources. You will use your Bear ID frequently along with a password that you should protect.

  • Usually Firstname_Lastname, sometimes with a number
  • Your Bear ID plus @baylor.edu forms your email address
  • Visit baylor.edu/bearid to change your password or your security questions
  • Baylor uses Duo two-factor authentication as an added layer of protection. Access to our most sensitive information platforms requires you to provide an additional 6-digit code for verification.

Baylor ID Number + Digital ID

Your Baylor ID Number is a unique 9-digit identifier used on university systems. Your Baylor ID Number is encoded into your Baylor Digital ID which can be added to your Apple or Google Wallet and used to unlock your residence hall room, allow building entry, access campus dining facilities, make purchases at Baylor Eats retail dining locations, check out library materials, and more!

You can discover your Baylor ID Number by clicking the information icon on Apple iOS devices or by selecting "Get Info" on Android devices.

HelpDesk+

You can also check out a wide range of equipment including laptops, chargers, flash drives, and more! AirBear

Baylor's campuswide wireless network is available to everyone with an active Bear ID and password. Do the following to connect!

  • Choose the AirBear WPA2 network on your device
  • Log in with your Bear ID and password
  • Accept the certificate if prompted

AirBear is content-filtered and monitorable for everyone's safety and security. While using AirBear, your activity is not anonymous. BU-GUEST is Baylor's sponsored wireless network for guests of faculty and staff.

Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 is available free of charge to all current Baylor students. This Baylor-provided license includes access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and other productivity applications - including the Outlook email app.

  • Visit office.com to use Microsoft 365 online and download apps to your computer. Download Outlook and other apps from Apple's App store or Google Play
  • Your Microsoft-based Baylor email is the university's official communication platform, so check your account several times per day - starting now
  • While you can use many email apps to monitor your Baylor email account, we suggest Microsoft Outlook for the best experience
  • Report phishing and other suspicious messages to abuse@baylor.edu.

Cloud-Based Collaboration

Baylor provides free access to Box and OneDrive (part of Microsoft 365) for cloud-based file storage as part of a larger suite of collaborative tools that support group and individual work.

  • Files stored on Box and OneDrive can be edited using desktop apps, web browsers, or mobile apps.
  • Box keeps track of document versions and allows you to revert to previous versions.
  • Files can be shared, commented upon, and edited while remaining in the cloud using Box or OneDrive
  • Activate your Box account at baylor.box.com. OneDrive is ready to use at office.com.

PawPrints

Print from your devices to a network of black-and-white and color laser printers across the Baylor campus.

  • Visit helpdeskplus.web.baylor.edu/pawprints
  • Install the cloud-based print drivers on your computer
  • Print your document based on your desired format (1 or 2-sided, B&W or color)
  • Release your print job from the PawPrints website or the PawPrints app to one of 120+ printer locations
  • Pick up your print job

Each semester you are allotted 800 2-sided B&W prints and are only charged if you exceed this allowance (and, thankfully, few do). With PawPrints, you can even print a job by uploading through print.baylor.edu or email your print job!

You will find the syllabus for your courses, take quizzes and tests, turn in assignments, collaborate with your colleagues, monitor your course progress, and more using Canvas. You can access Canvas using a web browser or the Canvas app on your Apple or Android device.
