In a riveting display of intellect and strategy, Bal Bhavan Public School hosted the prestigious CBSE Regional Chess Tournament from October 19 to October 21, 2023. This remarkable event witnessed an impressive participation of over 150 schools and 2200 students, transforming the school premises into a battleground of wits and strategic prowess.

Grand Opening Ceremony:

The tournament kicked off with an aura of anticipation and excitement as the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony, Dr. Amarendra Pani, Director of the Research Division at the Association of Indian Universities, graced the occasion. His insightful words inspired the young chess enthusiasts, setting the tone for the tournament. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the beginning of a three-day intellectual marathon.

Days of Fierce Competition:

The ensuing days were a testament to the competitive spirit and sportsmanship displayed by the participants. The chessboards buzzed with concentration as players from diverse backgrounds and schools engaged in intense battles of logic and skill. Each move was a testament to the hours of practice and dedication put in by these budding chess maestros.

On 31st October, 2023 Bal Bhavan Public School hosted its much-anticipated Annual Inter-School Competition, "Galaxia," on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The event, which drew participants from 48 prominent schools in the region, witnessed a vibrant display of talent with over 1500 enthusiastic students.

Distinguished Indian actor, Mr. Rishi Bhutani, renowned for his roles in Bollywood films, graced the occasion as the esteemed chief guest, adding an aura of glamour to the event.

The competition comprised nine exhilarating contests, including Elocution, One Act Play, Poem Recitation, Storytelling, Street Play, Canvas Painting, and more. These events served as a platform for young talents to showcase their creativity and prowess, captivating the audience and judges alike.

Expertly curated and judged by subject specialists, professors, and acclaimed artists, "Galaxia" not only celebrated the spirit of healthy competition but also highlighted the incredible skills and potential of the participants. Each event was a testament to the school's commitment to nurturing and promoting diverse talents among the youth.

In a heartening gesture, the school's Principal extended warm congratulations to all the participants and winners, commending their dedication and hard work that made the competition a resounding success.

STRENGTHENING OUR CULTURAL TIES

Bal Bhavanities embarked on a cultural exchange program with Taichung Phesin Jr. High School, Taiwan strengthening cross-cultural ties. The virtual interaction took place on 17th October, 2023 and the students of grade VI – VIII were a part of this enriching session.

The students from both the schools actively engaged in meaningful conversations, where the curious minds from Taiwan asked questions related to the culture, food, festivals of India such as Durga Puja, Navratri, and Dusshera and Deepawali which breathe life into Indian traditions.

The virtual exchange program helped the students to develop a broader world view, enhancing our inter-cultural competence and communication skills. They also gained insights into the festivals, culture and traditions of India.

Dhriti Pandey of class II has participated in Srimad Bhagwat Gita Shlok Vachan recitation competition orgnized by Sad Vidhya Pratishthanam on their 56th foundation day in Noida. Dhriti Pandey has bagged the 1st position in Junior Category in this competition.

Her brushstrokes vividly captured the untamed spirit of the wild, with the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger taking centre stage in her masterpiece.

WILD LIFE WEEK CELEBRATION

"The quality of human life will deteriorate as wildlife becomes extinct."

Wildlife Week was celebrated by students from Classes III to V during the first week of October. The students beautifully depicted various wildlife animals, their lifestyles, and habitats through role-play. They wore animal masks and conveyed the message of protecting and preserving wildlife. This event helped students understand the significance of the wildlife ecosystem in their lives.

In the end, it was a fun and educational day for all the learners, as they discovered how their small steps can positively impact the environment.

SWACCHANJALI - CLEANLINESS DRIVE

On 2nd October 2023, a Swachchta Rally was organized at Bal Bhavan Public School in celebration of Swachchta Pakhwada. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and staff. The rally commenced at [Starting Point] and followed a designated route through the school premises, raising awareness about cleanliness and hygiene.

Participants carried placards with slogans promoting cleanliness, and demonstrated a collective commitment towards maintaining a clean environment. The rally successfully instilled a sense of responsibility for cleanliness among the school community. The event culminated with a pledge-taking ceremony to ensure a cleaner and healthier school environment.

EMBRACING THE SPLENDOUR OF FESTIVITY

With the start of the festive season, across India the students of Bal Bhavan Public School revelled in the devotion of Navratri, and rejoiced in the victory of good over evil on Dusshera.

The students were beautifully dressed up to play the role of their favourite mythological characters from Ramayana and breathed life into the epic tale of Ramayana during the morning class assembly. The day reached its crescendo with awe inspiring Ravan Dahan. It was a day filled with cultural vibrance, knowledge and fun.

As we soak in the festive fervour, let's not forget the values that these celebrations stand for –unity, diversity, and the unwavering belief in the triumph of good. Let’s continue to spread the infectious positivity of these festivities, lighting up our lives and the lives of those around us.

ROAD SAFETY: POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

Participation is the first step, but passion and excellence make the journey truly remarkable!

We're proud to share the artistic achievements of our students at the Road Safety-themed Painting Competition, co-organized by Delhi Traffic Police and NDMC on Raahgiri Day held in Connaught Place on 24th September 2023. Amidst a pool of 150+ talented participants, Kudos to Ketan Kohlay from XII-E for painting his way to victory claiming the prestigious prize.

This competition became more than a showcase of artistic flair; it became a canvas for the enlightenment of road sense and safety awareness. The vivid strokes and vibrant colors on each poster served as visual reminders of the critical need for responsible behavior on the roads. The competition, in its essence, was a catalyst for fostering a community-wide understanding of road safety, aligning our collective consciousness toward a safer, more considerate road culture.

CYBER JAGRUKTA DIWAS

"Cyber alertness is not just a precaution; it's a shield for the digital age, safeguarding our virtual lives in a connected world."

In today's digital landscape, our young learners are explorers in both the physical and virtual realms. Just as we teach them road safety, it's essential to empower them with cyber safety knowledge. In the digital age, students from classes III to V engaged with an engaging and informative video that addressed topics such as online safety and the protection of personal information, while promoting the message of "Cyber Jagrukta" for safer internet navigation.

The classroom came alive with animated discussions as students interacted with eye-opening videos that emphasized the significance of cybersecurity, providing them with the essential tools for secure online surfing.

Embracing the digital landscape, VI-A marked Cyber Jagrookta Diwas through enlightening poetry, they underscored the significance of safeguarding against cyber threats. As we reflect on this insightful assembly, we not only celebrated awareness but absorbed invaluable lessons on navigating the web securely.

Let's be wise, let's be safe, as we continue our journey in the cyber world.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

"Embrace your uniqueness, nurture your well-being. On this Mental Health Day, let's prioritize self-care and kindness because a healthy mind is a thriving mind."

In a heartwarming celebration of World Mental Health Day, Bal Bhavan Public School illuminated the importance of mental well-being under the banner of "Empowering Minds, Embracing Differences!"

With a theme that resonates throughout the world, the dedicated Counselors' team orchestrated a day filled with meaningful activities and discussions. The event aimed to emphasize the significance of mental health, inclusivity, and the power of communication in our lives.

The day's activities were designed to engage, educate, and empower the students. A range of workshops and sessions was organized, including poster making, which encouraged students to express their thoughts and emotions creatively. These vibrant and expressive posters served as a platform for students to share their understanding of mental health and the significance of embracing differences.

Additionally, discussions on topics such as body image, anti-bullying initiatives, inclusive education, the impact of media, strategies for tackling peer pressure, and the power of effective communication were conducted. These conversations allowed students to gain a deeper insight into these subjects and develop the skills necessary to deal with the challenges that arise in their lives.

The day's activities were marked by a spirit of inclusivity and unity, as students came together to discuss, learn, and empathize. It was a reminder that everyone has a role to play in supporting one another's mental health and that together, we can make a difference.

TEACHER’S WORKSHOP ON EFFECTIVE WAYS OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS

"The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple." - Srinivasa Ramanujan

Reflecting this philosophy, a remarkable Maths workshop was organized by Bharti Publishers at Bal Bhavan Public School on 15th September 2023. The educators delved into the insightful teachings of our esteemed speaker, Mr. Sudhir Singhal Sir, founder of Dynamic Minds Group. As the workshop unfolded, it wasn't just about solving equations; it was about solving the puzzle of sparking curiosity. It wasn't merely a convergence of minds; it was a convergence of pedagogical philosophies, a meeting point where tradition and innovation danced hand in hand.

Our educators left the workshop not just enriched with knowledge but with a renewed passion for cultivating a love for mathematics in their students. The invaluable exposure gained through this immersive experience has not only broadened their horizons but has also ignited a flame to revolutionize the way mathematics is taught and learned. The workshop wasn't a mere event—it was a catalyst for change, a ripple in the pond of education that will resonate far beyond the confines of the classroom.

CPR WORKSHOP

BBPS-MV in association with District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in East District partnered with the Heart Care Foundation of India hosted a workshop on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation for the students and the staff. Ms. Anjali Diwakar, who serves as the District Project Officer for East, and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, a CPR Trainer and Project Manager at the Heart Care Foundation of India, led the workshop along with their team-mates.

Our students learned life-saving skills that can make a difference in emergencies. This knowledge empowers them to be responsible, quick responders in times of need. The students showcased their CPR skill which was approved by the trainers. Being trained in CPR, provides the knowledge, confidence and skills to stay calm in a medical emergency.

Our students gained valuable insight into life-saving techniques and the importance of quick response during emergencies to create a healthier, safer world.

ATL- GREEN SUSTAINABLE DIWALI

"The greatest homage should be paid to ‘Mother Earth,’ who takes care of the nature in which we have been nurtured. Hopefully, from now on, we must try to maintain the balance of nature by giving importance to the spiritual aspect of Diwali."

Bal Bhavanites from classes III to XII celebrated a green Diwali with great enthusiasm. The students showcased their creativity and talent without limitations during the tinker hour session. They participated in various activities such as "making toran," "creating decorative coasters," and "engaging in lantern activities" using waste and eco-friendly materials. They learned how to reuse old items like newspapers, CDs, and other waste materials to create beautiful Diwali crafts that are environmentally friendly. This year, we celebrate Diwali in a green way, especially in the face of growing environmental concerns.

DISASTER AND FIRST AID

“We cannot stop natural disasters, but we can arm ourselves with knowledge; so many lives wouldn't have to be lost if there was enough disaster preparedness.”

Disasters are unavoidable calamities caused by natural or human-caused factors, such as earthquakes, cyclones, droughts, floods, and forest fires that result in significant loss of lives and properties. Disaster management aims to reduce harm, avoiding hazardous practices and environmental degradation, while preparing plans for disaster management.

A morning assembly on the topic of "Disaster Management" was conducted by students of class IV. The assembly commenced with a short skit to convey the message regarding preparedness and precautions to be taken during a disaster. The students also shared knowledge about first aid and discussed the steps to be taken while administering first aid for burns, wounds, and nosebleeds. The students helped spread awareness among us.

VALMIKI JAYANTI

"Lord Valmiki's Life Teaches Us That We Are Not Born Good or Evil; It's Our Deeds That Determine Our Greatness."

Valmiki Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, the revered Adi Kavi or the first poet in Sanskrit. His monumental contributions to Indian literature and inspiring life continue to influence generations.

The assembly was conducted by the students of Class II. A student, dressed in traditional attire, recited a beautiful shloka from the Ramayana, accompanied by an explanation of its profound teachings. This helped the audience understand the depth of the shloka.

Another student delivered a speech, complete with a skit, illustrating Valmiki's transformation from a highway robber to a sage, emphasizing the power of spirituality.

Students shared valuable teachings from Maharishi Valmiki, which have left an indelible mark and continue to serve as a source of inspiration for students. Additionally, a student recited a beautiful poem based on Valmiki's life.

The assembly underlined the significance of Valmiki Jayanti, leaving a profound impact on all. We hope Valmiki's life and the Ramayana's lessons will inspire us in our own lives.

‘वीरगाथा’

"शहीदों के शहादत को यूँ कौन भूल पाएगा, आने वाला युग भी, गाथाएँ इनकी गाएगा |"

बाल भवन पब्लिक स्कूल के कक्षा पाँचवी के छात्रों ने 11-10 – 23 को वीर गाथा विषय पर प्रार्थना सभा प्रस्तुत की | जिसमें छात्रों ने भारतीय सेना के बलिदान हुए सैनिकों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की | छात्रों ने सभी को वीर गाथा प्रोजेक्ट के बारे में जानकारी दी तथा शहीदों की गौरव गाथाएँ सुनाकर सबमें देश प्रेम की भावना जागृत करने का प्रयास किया | गायन प्रस्तुति तथा वीर रस से पूर्ण कविता वाचन किया गया | इस प्रार्थना सभा के माध्यम से यह सीख दी कि हमें देश के वीरों का सम्मान करना चाहिए तथा देश सेवा की भावना से आगे बढ़ना चाहिए |

नवरात्रि उत्सव

“सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके ।शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमोऽस्तुते ॥”

कक्षा चौथी के छात्रों ने नवरात्रि के पर्व को प्रार्थना सभा के माध्यम से सभी के समक्ष प्रस्तुत किया और हमें नौ देवियों के इस धरा पर अवतरित स्वरूपों से मिलवाया तथा सबको यह समझाया कि नवरात्रि मात्र आध्यात्म से जुड़ा पर्व नहीं बल्कि ये नारी शक्ति का प्रतीक भी है | छात्रों ने नवरात्रि मनाने के वैज्ञानिक तथ्यों से अवगत करवाया गया ताकि हम सही मायने में नवरात्रि पर्व का महत्व समझ सकें | छात्रों ने दुर्गा स्तुति प्रस्तुत की तथा नवदुर्गा के रूपों से परिचित करवाया | अंत में एक सुंदर नृत्य की प्रस्तुति के द्वारा हम सभी को विजयदशमी यानि दशहरा मनाने के उद्देश्य को समझाया और यह संदेश दिया कि सदैव असत्य पर सत्य की ही जीत होती है | प्रार्थना सभा के माध्यम से सभी को यह ज्ञात हुआ कि नवरात्रि केवल एक त्योहार ही नहीं है अपितु यह हमारे अद्भुत भारत की समृद्ध संस्कृति, रीति-रिवाज़ों और परंपराओं छवि है जो हमें अपनी सभ्यता से भी जोड़ती है |
