Finals are drawing to a close and all eyes are on Fall Commencement Ceremonies this Thursday. The Christmas holidays follow and the promise of a New Year waits eagerly in the wings.

Commencement 101: Information for Graduating Students

TAMIU's Fall Commencement Address to be Delivered by Edmundo González, Laredo-born Entrepreneur

Providing the Commencement Address for the Summer and Fall candidates for graduation is Edmundo González, Laredo-born entrepreneur, and investor.

González most recently co-founded Marpai Health, a technology company that lowers employers’ healthcare costs by proactively improving the health of employees and their families. Founded in 2019, Marpai completed an initial public offering in late 2021 and has completed multiple acquisitions. Marpai works with over 200 employers and manages healthcare benefits for approximately 80,000 employees and their family members.

González’ family has been at home in Laredo, Nuevo Laredo, and the surrounding area for many generations. His parents live in Laredo, as do members of his extended family. He attended Mary Help of Christians School and St. Augustine High School, and earned a BA cum laude from Harvard University and an MBA from the Columbia Business School.

Registration for the Spring 2024 Semester Now Underway

Registration for TAMIU's Wintermester and Spring 2024 courses continues online via Uconnect.

Undergraduate students can register for up to three hours during the Wintermester session and up to 18 hours during the Spring semester. Graduate students can earn three hours during the Wintermester session and up to 12 hours during the Spring semester.

TAMIU Athletics Update

TAMIU is a member of the Lone Star Conference and competes in 11 sports: volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
