COASTAL Winter CLASSIC EVENT INFORMATION PACKAGE

WELCOME!

The information found in this package will help with any questions you may have about the event.

Any questions during your game day there will be Coastal FC Staff available at the BMO Coastal Soccer Centre to help you.

Checking In

Teams do not need to check in when they arrive. Any/all paperwork must be submitted before the event

Players do not need to check in

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BE ON TIME AS ALL GAMES MUST START ON TIME TO MAINTAIN THE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE.

To ensure game times start and end on time there will be a buzzer that sounds at the beginning and end of each game.

Score Reporting

Teams do not need to report scores. No scores or standings will be kept for this event.

Rosters & ID Cards

Rosters for ALL TEAMS must be uploaded to the team dashboard before the event. Teams do not need to print rosters.

You can use any other match sheet as long as it has player name, birth year and jersey number. (For younger (U8/U9) teams if your team does not have numbered jerseys that is ok, you do not need to go out and get them)

To upload to your team dashboard:

  • login to your Event Connect account (the one you signed up for the tournament with)
  • when you go to your team dashboard scroll until you get to the section called REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS . Click the "Edit Survey" link. Scroll through the questions until you get to the question about uploading roster and click on the upload button.
  • Find where you saved your roster on your computer and click on it to upload it to your dashboard.
  • Players will not populate on your team dashboard when you upload roster.

Players do not need to have ID Cards but must be able to show proof of age if requested by a Referee or Tournament Official.

Located in South Surrey Athletic Park, next to softball city

Parking

PARKING is available at the BMO Soccer Centre, in the event the parking is full there is additional parking throughout the park. DO NOT park on curbs, in drop off areas or in staff parking spots.

INSIDE THE BMO COASTAL SOCCER CENTRE

The BMO Coastal Soccer Centre is not heated. Make sure to dress warmly.

There is not an area to hang out inside the facility before/after games. Many teams set up tents and seating outside around the parking lot. Please just make sure you are not blocking parking spots or driveways. There is room around the edges of the parking lot without setting up in the parking lot.

Field Layout

There are 4 pads in the BMO Soccer Centre. Games are played on 2 pads. Pads 1 & 2 are closest to the entrance and pads 3 & 4 are behind them.

The field size with the two pads together is approximately 35 x 50 yards.

PLAYERS AREA

Only players and coaches are permitted on the East side of the fields. Parents MUST stay on the West side.

Players/coaches go to the right, spectators to the left.

NO FOOD OR DRINKS

No food or drinks inside the BMO Coastal Soccer Centre (except water)

Game Format

U8

5 v 5 ( 4 plus goalkeeper)

U9 & over

6 v 6 (5 plus goalkeeper)

All games are 25 minutes. Each team plays 4 games.

In the case of a mixed age group (U8/U9) teams will play by the format of the oldest age group. (6v6)

Substitutions are unlimited for all age groups at the referee’s discretion.

Player, Coach & Parent Conduct

The Coastal FC Winter Classic has a zero-tolerance policy for verbal and/or physical abuse of any referee by players, team officials, parents or spectators and will take any infraction seriously (potential suspension for entire event or team expulsion from the tournament)

Players, coaches, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves within the Laws of the Game and generally accepted good sportsmanship. Displayers of temper or dissent are cause for ejection from the game and surrounding field area. Repeated violations may result in the suspension/expulsion of the team in question.

All participants should be aware that Coastal FC Staff have the authority and right to remove any unruly or uncivil spectators from the game field perimeter and/or the field complex area.
