BBC 500 Words Competition
We are excited to let you all know that Peyton in Year 3 has been shortlisted for the final of the BBC 500 Words Competition and will be attending the grand final to be hosted by Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle. This is an amazing achievement in itself, but what is even more remarkable is that this is the second year in a row that Peyton has reached the final! Last year she met the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Huge congratulations Peyton, you are very inspiring and we wish you lots of luck for the final.

Headteacher Award
Congratulations to Isaac in Year 6 who has received a Headteacher's award for hard work in arithmetic and making great progress. Well done Isaac!
Spotlight on Attendance 🔦
Please see below for the attendance figures for the first two weeks of 2026. We are absolutely delighted to see that the overall school attendance is much improved and back up above 95%. Thank you to all of our families for helping students arrive on time and ready to learn each day. Let's keep this going as we move through 2026! Remember, every day in school makes a difference to your child's overall development.
Here are some reminder of how to support your child:
- Do not take holidays in term time (see here for Penalty Notice information)
- Make appointments outside of school hours
- Use the "When is to ill to ill" guidance when considering keeping your child off school (click here to view)
- Arrive on time each day. School gates open at 8.40 with registers closing at 8.55am
- Reach out to school Via Mrs Daine or Mrs Greenley for support around school attendance including Emotional Based School Avoidance
Absence from school not only equates to lost learning but also missing out on other benefits to a child's wellbeing and wider development.
Big Garden Birdwatch
Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. Every year, hundreds of thousands of nature lovers like you take part, helping to build a picture of how garden birds are faring.
Spend an hour watching the birds in your patch, between 23 and 25 January, and record the birds that land. Click the button below to find out more and sign up.
