Some players are simply built for the game, and Landon Glasper is one of them. The junior combo guard for North Carolina A&T State University has spent his entire life immersed in basketball.
For him, the port is more than just competition—it’s a legacy. With parents who played in their school days and an older brother who also pursued the game, Glasper was destined to follow suit.
From the gymnasiums of Fayetteville, Arkansas, his journey has been filled with grit, determination, and an undeniable love for the game. But beyond the stats and accolades, Glasper is a leader, a student, and a dreamer with his eyes set on something greater.
Early Days: A Basketball Upbringing
Basketball was always present in Glasper’s life. Growing up in Fayetteville, he looked up to his family’s passion for the sport and made it his own. He first sharpened his skills at Ramsey Junior High before moving on to Fayetteville High School, where he quickly established himself as a standout player.
Playing as a point guard, Glasper wasted no time making an impact. As a sophomore, he dropped 15 points against the Bryant Hornets, showcasing his potential.

- Conference champion title.
These milestones were just stepping stones for what was to come next.
Transition to College Basketball
After graduating, Glasper took his talents to Coffeyville Community College before transferring to North Carolina A&T in 2023. His decision to move to A&T was largely influenced by a former teammate, who knew the school well and encouraged him to join.
The transition was seamless—life in Greensboro felt similar to Arkansas, but the game itself was a different story. The physicality and speed of college basketball were unlike anything he had faced before. Still, Glasper adjusted, proving that he belonged at the next level.

The Grind of a Student-Athlete
Behind every great performance is a rigorous routine, Glasper’s daily schedule is built around dedication and discipline:
- 7-8 AM: wake up
- 10 AM: strength training and team practice
- Afternoon: Eat, rest, then return to the gym for individual drills
- Evening: work on dribbling, shooting, stretching, or see a trainer if needed
While his love for the game is strong, there are tough days too. Missing shots, exhausting workouts, and endless running can be frustrating. But when doubt creeps in he reminds himself:
“It’s just basketball, things happen all the time, It’s not always going to be good.”
Before games, he keeps his pre-game routine simple—relaxing, shooting around, and mentally locking in.
“I used to drink a sprite before every game but I had to stop that.” He laughs.
More Than a Player: Leadership & Legacy
As one of the oldest players on the team, Glasper takes his leadership role seriously. He sets an example, both on and off the court. To him, a team is like family—any problems stay within the team, just like they would in a household.
Being a student-athlete is more than just playing ball—it’s a responsibility. Many people look up to college athletes, and Glasper embraces that. The best advice he’s received from his coaches and teammates echoes in his mind every day:
“Keep going, never give up, always believe in yourself, and don’t let anybody believe in you more than you believe in yourself.”
After every game, whether it’s a win or a loss, he heads back to the gym to work on what he didnt do well during a game, His mindset is simple: Improve every day.
Life Beyond Basketball
Off the court, Glasper is just as laid-back as he is competitive. His favorite movie is Friday, and he enjoys English and History in school. When it comes to music, He’s all about hip-hop and R&B, with Rod Wave at the top of his playlist.
While he doesn’t have a favorite book, he has big dreams beyond basketball—one day, he hopes to live in California or Canada.
The future: What’s Next for Glasper?
Glasper’s journey is far from over. He has dreams of playing professionally, and if he had his way, he’ll be suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers.
For younger, athletes chasing the same dream, his message is clear: “Believe in yourself, Academics come first—you won’t play if your grades aren’t right. Continue to work on both your strengths and weaknesses and overall never give up.”
At North Carolina A&T, Glasper has already left his mark—not just for his performance on the court, but for his character, leadership, and ability to bring a smile to those around him.
But the story isn’t finished yet. Now in the transfer portal, he’s preparing for the next chapter of his career. Wherever he ends up, one thing is certain—Landon Glasper was born to ball.
