This month we asked our community to capture the snug and cozy essence of autumn, by showing us their warmest, most comforting images that evoke the magic of this season, from crackling fires and soft blankets to vibrant fall foliage and serene outdoor scenes..

Keywords: aerial view, fall foliage, road, forest, autumn. As you know, I am not a big fan of compound keywords, so I would have changed “fall foliage” to just “foliage” since you already have “Autumn” as a keyword.
Aerial views always have something interesting, since they show us the world from a different perspective. I would have tried to rotate the image a couple of degrees, so the lower part of the road was straight, using the car as an anchor point for the rotation.
The colors are great, although the saturation may be a bit too high; however, the contrast between cold and warm colors adds to the magic mood of the image.
Keywords: Pumpkin, sunflowers, still-life, autumn, tablescape. Good keywords. I had never heard the term “tablescape”, and I love it!
This is one of those pictorial images from Simi that we love so much! The lighting is dramatic without being overly contrasty, the composition is good, and the color contrast is great. And all the elements of this still life scream autumn harvest!
Keywords: knit up, socks, fall, hobby, wool. I’d rather use “knit” than “knit up” as a keyword. The first option has over 1.3 million results, while the latter only shows over 12K. That difference is a clear indicator of the keyword more customers may use.
I like this image! Maybe the background is a bit too dark and saturated for my taste because it mutes the other colors, but I like the composition with that ribbon at the bottom and the contrast between the hard and harsh texture of the wood as opposed to the softness of the wool.
There is some room for copyspace on the left, which is always helpful for customers, and I think it is a good idea to show something during the creation process since it has more storytelling potential.
Keywords: campfire, couple, dog, snug, fall. Good selection of keywords!
This is a really nice and cozy image that perfectly captures the season: it’s cold, so you need a campfire, but not so cold as not to stay outside. One of the things I like about this image is the fact that it doesn’t look staged but just a moment in time in an actual location. Maybe I would have framed the picture focusing more on them and reducing a bit the messiness of the background, which can be a bit distracting.
Keywords: cycling, autumn, rainy, couple, bicycle. When I watch that image, I don’t immediately feel that it is raining, so I wouldn’t use that keyword in the top ten.
I like when I see images of outdoor activities adapted to different seasons; most of the time we see winter sports and summer sports, but having people cycling with long trousers and those rain or wind jackets add just a different feel, and that image could be used both for spring or autumn.
The composition is very good, with the riders on one of the thirds, and leaving a good copyspace on the left side.
Keywords: still life, autumn colors, pumpkin, season, flat lay. One of the reasons why I do not recommend using compound keywords is that they do not translate to other languages. So, even though “autumn colors” used as a single keyword gives almost a million entries (so it is used by many contributors and it has to be used by customers too, if I go for a translated version (for example, “colores de otoño” in Spanish, or “couleurs d'automne” in French), the number of results is very low.
There are lots of fruits, nuts, and vegetables related to Autumn, but the Pumpkin is still King. This image is perfect for depicting Autumn with the bare minimum: just two colors and two elements (or three, if we count the plate). The earthy brown and the vivid orange of the cloth enhance the main element of the image, that half pumpkin that looks impossibly perfect.
Composition also allows for a reframing, if necessary, and leaves room for copy on both sides of the pumpkin, so it is very useful for customers.
Keywords: dog, autumn, puppy, meadow, walk. Nice keywords; there is nothing to change here!
This image’s color palette, with its earthy tones and golden highlights, creates a warm, atmospheric sensation of a sunset in the early days of the season. The composition is good, leaving room on the out-of-focus upper and lower parts of the image for copy space and also the possibility of cropping the image in a square or landscape mode.
The look of the puppy, straight into the camera lens, seems to ask us to follow him on a nice walk, so it makes us participate in the image more actively, not only as spectators.
Keywords: cozy, ambience, snug, warmth, fireplace. Those keywords are good, but you are leaving out the puppy out of them! I think that dog (or puppy) and even blanket (or cushion) should be on the top keywords for your image.
It's been a while since we have included a Generative AI image, because we are very demanding with their quality, comparing them with real photographs, and we had such great photos to share. This one works perfectly for the challenge, and it is a good image. There are none of the usual issues with Generative AI images; the texture on the blanket/cushion is correct, and the dog’s expression is of pure comfort and relaxation. I have to say this could work even better as a winter image, but it is cozy and warm and that’s what we were looking for!
Keywords: fall, rain, taxi, city, man. Good keywords! They are all descriptive, but you could also add some keywords related to the experience, such as “hurry” or “late”, which could be useful for customers too.
I find this image particularly interesting, especially because it doesn’t feel like something staged! The fact that the protagonist is framed in the Begoña helps you not having to deal with releases for the taxi company or any other issues that you would have to edit in post.
I like that the image is so grey, which reinforces the cold and wet weather and the rainy mood; that makes our eyes go directly to the taxi because of the color contrast and the warmth of his face. Nitpicking, I would have erased the taillight of one of the cars in the background, where we see that tiny splash of red color.
But it is a good image, with an interesting subject, a good model, and a composition that can be useful for many customers.
Keywords: background, foliage, color, maple, leaves. Good keywords, although I may have used “gradient” before “color”.
This image serves as a perfect autumn background! The natural gradient created by the leaves beautifully captures the essence of the season, evoking warmth and tranquility. It can be seamlessly integrated into brochures, websites, and social media posts to add a visually striking element that truly resonates with the spirit of autumn.
And now, for our favorite image for the Snug Season Creative Challenge...
