PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family, This week is filled with moments that bring us together in faith and in celebration—two of the greatest gifts of our St. Cecilia community. We begin on Tuesday as we celebrate our student athletes at their annual banquet. This is a special evening to recognize their hard work, commitment, and teamwork. On Wednesday at 1:00 PM, we warmly invite all of our mothers and mother figures to join us for our Mass for Moms. This is always a beautiful opportunity to pause, pray, and give thanks for the women who guide, nurture, and love so faithfully. Then Wednesday evening, we hope you’ll join us for our Prejean’s Spirit Night—a great way to support our school while enjoying time with fellow Bluejay families. Friday will be a day full of Bluejay pride. Our first grade authors will host their annual book signing Friday morning—a joy-filled tradition that celebrates creativity and the growth of our youngest writers. Then at 1:00 PM, we will gather for a truly historic moment as we break ground on our newest campus addition. This milestone represents not only growth, but a bold step forward in our mission—made possible by the faith, generosity, and shared vision of our community. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend as we mark the beginning of this exciting new chapter. Friday is also a Spirit Day, and students are encouraged to come dressed proudly in their SCS Bluejay gear. In today’s Gospel from John 10:1–10, Jesus tells us that He is the gate and the Good Shepherd—the one whose voice we know and the one who leads us to life in abundance. A shepherd leads his flock forward, guiding them to new ground where they can grow and flourish. This week at St. Cecilia, we are trusting in His will as we step forward in faith into the future God is preparing for us. May we continue to listen for His voice, trust where He leads, and walk together with confidence in the abundant life He promises. Thank you for being such an essential part of our Bluejay family. Grace & Peace, Erin B. Henry Principal

“I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10

Hallow Highlight

To Jesus Through Mary- Join us in a powerful journey to grow closer to Jesus by praying every day alongside His Mother, Mary, led by Sister Miriam James Heidland, singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani, and Fr. Pierre Toussaint, CFR. Start on April 27 to pray every day leading up to the Feast of the Visitation on May 31! Over 33 days, Sister Miriam will guide us through powerful reflections on True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort and Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis. We’ll then pray alongside Gwen and Fr. PT to really see how each day is a step closer to Mary and, through her, a step closer to Jesus.

PTC Spotlight

Almost everyone has met Hailey Fontenot or seen her around school or church. Hailey is a busy mother of five children, who are fourth-generation SCS students. She is also a Registered Nurse and holds several credentials in the healthcare field, but she still finds time to volunteer for just about everything. She serves as Chair of the Broussard Community Fair, has been an Advisory Council officer and member for the last few years, a Room Mom (often for more than one class), a 4-H Leader, substitute teacher, and Bereavement Committee member at SHJ.  She has also volunteered for the Bluejay Bash, Color Run, Spirit Shop, and VBS, as well as many other school and church events. Thank you, Hailey, for continuing to be an amazing PTC member and friend to many.
