BROUGHAL MUSIC BLAST #9 2025-2026

Welcome to the the 2025-2026 Broughal Music Blast! It's hard to believe the first marking period is almost over! So much has happened and we're excited to continue this journey with everyone. Make sure you check your grades and your attendance for lessons and rehearsals. In the meantime, our first weekend of parades was a success, and we're thrilled to march in our own Bethlehem Halloween Parade this Sunday! Make sure you check us out! GO ROCKETS! Bethlehem Halloween Parade - Sunday, 10/26

Our final parade for the Fall season is our hometown parade - the 104th Annual Bethlehem Halloween Parade! Please note that NO BUSES ARE PROVIDED for this parade. For more details, please read the following schedule and information very carefully:

The rain date is scheduled for Sunday, 11/2, at the same times. Please wear comfortable clothing underneath your uniform. Make sure no clothing is sticking out from underneath your uniform. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Stoltz or Mr. Kendall.

Mandatory Music Meeting - Presentation

Our first music meeting for the 2025-2026 school year was on Thursday, September 4th, at 7:30 PM, in Broughal's Auditorium! During this meeting, we discussed important information for Broughal Music this year, including fundraisers, performances, trips, and rules & expectations. For more specific details, please view the presentation, complete any required tasks, and contact the directors with any questions.

Instrumental Music Lessons

Lessons began on Tuesday, September 2. All instrumental music students should have received their first lesson assignments during the first week of school, in homeroom. Please note that all lessons take place during the students' Related Arts periods. Early-Morning Rehearsals

Early-morning rehearsals began on Wednesday, September 3. Students should report to the main entrance on Morton Street as early as 6:55 AM but no later than 7:05 AM, on their assigned rehearsal day, based on the following rehearsal schedule:

  • MONDAYS: Jazz Band
  • TUESDAYS: NO EARLY-MORNING
  • WEDNESDAYS: Band, Majorettes, Honor Guard
  • THURSDAYS: NO EARLY-MORNING
  • FRIDAYS: Band, Majorettes, Honor Guard

Handbook Forms Due - Wednesday, 10/1

Like past years, we will be using Google Forms to collect your responses for your Handbook Forms. CLICK HERE to access and complete your forms. If you need paper copies of the Handbook Forms, please contact one of the Directors. All electronic and paper Handbook Forms are due by Wednesday, 10/1. Don't forget to fill out the paper BASD Medical Form (English | Español) in addition to the electronic forms!

Volunteers Needed

One of the most helpful ways to assist Broughal Music is by volunteering! Depending on the event, you'll be assisting and supporting students and directors so that EVERYONE can have a successful, stress-free performance/event! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mr. Stoltz (astoltz@basdschools.org) as soon as possible and let him know which of the following events you would like to volunteer for:

  • Tue, 11/11: Veterans Day Ceremony

Please note that adult volunteers must have active clearances on file with the Broughal Music Department BEFORE volunteering. Additionally, community service students are limited to students currently attending Liberty High School or Freedom High School. If you have any questions, please contact one of the Directors.

Clusters Popcorn Fundraiser

Our next fundraiser, Clusters Popcorn, begins on Thursday, October 30! Clusters Popcorn offers 7 different flavors, including Dairy Free (DF) and Gluten Free (GF) options:

  • Caramel Corn (GF)
  • Cinnamon Toast (GF)
  • Cookie Explosion (DF)
  • Toasted Coconut (DF, GF)
  • Sweet Habanero (GF)
  • Garlic Parmesan (GF)
  • White Cheddar (GF)

Each popcorn gift bag (32 oz.) costs $22 while each small bag (8 oz.) costs $6. Students earn 40% for each item sold. All money and orders are due by Thursday, November 20. We accept cash, check, or money order made payable to "BMPO." All orders will be available for pick-up on Thursday, December 4, at 3 PM, in the Band Room. Matey's Pizza Fundraiser

The Matey's Pizza fundraiser has ended! Pizzas cost $7.50 each, except for Gluten Free pizza ($9.50 each). Students earn $2.00 per pizza sold. All order forms and money were due by Thursday, 10/23. Pizza delivery will take place on Thursday, 11/6, at 3 PM in the Band Room. For more details, please check out the following order form. Spring Trip Cost - CONFIRMED

Now that we have received final prices from Dorney Park and Music in the Parks, we can confirm the prices for our Spring Trip on Friday, May 15, 2026. Please review the following figures for more details. These prices include the cost of the charter bus, trip t-shirt, food and drink, park admission, and the music competition fee. Your trip cost will be reduced if you have a Dorney Pass. All trip payments are due on Thursday, April 9, 2026. If you have any questions, please contact one of the directors.

Gertrude Hawk Candy Fundraiser

Our first fundraiser has ended! Check out the following details for more information on our first and one of our most popular fundraisers:

  • Boxes of candy are available for pick-up in the Band Room. Students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian when signing out boxes of candy.
  • There are 48 bars in each candy box. Each candy bar costs $2.50 (2 for $5.00). Students should return $120 to the BMPO. All money and orders were due on Thursday, 9/25.
  • For each box sold, students earn $50 towards their Broughal Music account.

$50 Fair Share Due Thursday, 9/25

The $50 Fair Share was due on Thursday, 9/25. We use this money to purchase music, supplies, clothing, food, and beverages. We also use these funds to pay for transportation, field trips, and various items and events throughout the school year. If you have any questions, please contact the directors as soon as possible.

Want to know how much money is in your child's account and how much money you owe for Fair Share and the Spring Trip? Check out the Broughal Music website or the following button/link. The document is organized by Student ID number, so make sure you have the ID number ready. If you cannot find your child's ID number, please contact Mr. Stoltz (astoltz@basdschools.org).

Do you know when your next lesson is? Have you been practicing your instrument? Check the Lesson Schedule regularly so that you are prepared for your next lesson. Remember, you need to attend 17 lessons per instrument in order to attend the Spring Trip!
