Global Forgiveness Day

"The Day to Forgive, The Day to be Forgiven."

July 7th

History:

Global Forgiveness Day is a Day to forgive and a Day to be forgiven. Founded and created by David Schramm in 1994, as the result of the broken and hurtful relationship with his father. It is a day to try and reconcile with friends, family, and other people in our lives.

Forgiveness . . .

The perfect gift that's almost always returned!

True forgiveness in NOT "Forgive and forget." True forgiveness is "Forgive and Remember."

We remember the hurt that we felt so that we remember not to cause the same hurt to someone else.

Our emotions follow our decisions.

True forgiveness does not start as an emotion. True forgiveness in our minds begins when we decide to forgive. It still might hurt, but every time the hurtful memories return, we remind ourselves that we have decided to forgive them. Only then, the hurt begins to fade because our emotions follow our decisions.
